I looked around in question but couldn’t find anything. My wife did the mistake in taking my truck through the car wash. It now has a big scuff mark on the drivers door. It’s about 10in long and about 1.5 wide. Is there a way of minimizing the scuff mark? Don’t have my truck now but can post pics if needed.

If it didn’t go through the clear coat, just polish it out.

Post pics when you can. Turtle wax rubbing compound may work as well. We will know better once we see it.

I would try some rubbing compound. It doesn't look too bad.

It will all be gone in no time, back to brand new. I've pinstriped my truck offroading and camping and it is still looking new thanks to this combination.

I feel rubbing compound it too harsh for that minor infraction.
It is pretty damn gritty and will take your clearcoat right off..

Some Chemical Guy's 36 or 38, or even Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover would buff that out by hand..
I use either/or to remove light scratches on our vehicles.

    Amazon.com: Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0 – Cleaner/Polish Removes Fine Swirls – M0916, 16 oz: Automotive

Amazon.com: Fasmov Microfiber Applicator Pads Wax Applicator-20 Pack, Blue: Automotive

I like @rrp0968 suggestion as well..

    Amazon.com: Meguiars G10307 7 Oz ScratchX: Automotive

I'd even use some Flitz if you had it laying around..

Amazon.com: Flitz Multi-Purpose Polish and Cleaner Liquid for Metal, Plastic, Fiberglass, Aluminum, Jewelry, Sterling Silver: Great for Headlight Restoration + Rust Remover, Made in the USA: Automotive

And stop blaming your wife for stuff, we know you did it......

    Welcome to the forum...

I don't find the Griot's Complete Compound to be gritty at all. I hit the scratch with 3 to 6 passes. Wipe off the residue and inspect. That takes care of the lightest scratches. I repeat for deeper scratches. For the scratches that I can feel with my fingernail, I don't completely remove all evidence of them. I hit them enough to where they can still be seen at certain angles. I've knocked down the hard edge to them but haven't taken the clear off. It works for me

When I think of rubbing compound I think of the stuff I used to restore the paint of my 1969 Ford Fairlane in 1978.
It was gritty and would take the clearcoat off any modern paint job.

Perhaps rubbing compounds have come a long way 43 years.
From reading a few reviews on the one you suggested, they are much thinner and less abrasive that the old paste compounds that come to my mind.

That’s what I pictured, the stuff that came in a white and black can. Super gritty and aggressive.

General rule of thumb is "if you can't feel a ridge with your finger nail" it can be buffed out.
