    Hey everyone.I'm new here.
I was deathly scared, having my 2006 DC truck lock me out.
If you unlock the doors with the remote, and do not open a door in 60 seconds.
The doors will re-lock themselves, automatically.
My solution around this is dumb, but I feel better.
Open and shut a door, within the time and problem solved.
    Doors won't lock.

If anyone has a better more permanent solution, I'm all thumbs.
    Thanks,
    N

I was able to turn that feature off on my truck through the radio infotainment feature. But my wife’s car probably has to be done through techstream. My solution was to open the door like you said and close it. I found out years ago when I would unlock it from inside the house so I could go out and wash it, only to find the doors relocked. A little frustrating, but not that big of a deal once you know about it. At least if you hit unlock accidentally in your pocket, it will re-lock so your truck isn’t open to the world.

my 03 Sequoia doesn’t do this but I also don’t have the factory alarm.

Seems a little strange to want to work around a safety feature?
That’s designed to keep you from ass unlocking your doors and leaving your truck or car unsecured…..
Just like the feature that Auto Unlock’s your doors IF you try to lock the door while your key is in the ignition and a door is open, so You Don’t Lock Your Keys Inside.

At home, i leave my key on the shady running board. Everywhere else my key is in my pocket.

ive never trusted electric locks. Same devil as religion and government.

That’s what I have! It won’t start the ignition but it’ll get me in the truck.

Yes but relating the same experience as the feature is the same, just how you deal with it is different. Also my 1st gen sequoia reference. :D

I’ve been trying to calm down lately as I have high blood pressure that seems to be amplified when I stress on things. I’m taking notes!

The turd gen reference equals out with the 1st gen reference, creating a net equal restoring balance to the thread. PHM approves.

Good on ya. I’ll be releasing my new book soon on How Hand Models Deal with Stress and Stuff and it can help anybody. Its letting go of the little things like worrying about UV Exposure and getting a bad batch of Hand Lotion. I really look forward to helping others with the things I’ve learned.

Believe me, I thought about it when I made the comment. Didn’t want to upset the gods. I was aware that I was in a first GEN thread, not oblivious like some can be not taking note of the two completely different trucks. More just sharing an experience that happens to be similar on many Toyota models. Funny that my Sequoia doesn’t do this. But my crappy aftermarket alarm which I’ve actually had to bypass because damn alarm wouldn’t turn off one day, didn’t seem to have this feature when it worked.

    Bahahahaha.
I remember my 2nd gen Camry was when I noticed the power auto unlock and ass lock features started.
I leave my keys in my truck on the floor in front of the seat when at the shop or parked in the garage at home, unless I go public.
I do have a cut un-programed key for lockouts under my bed mat, done as an afterthought when Anne hit the lock button closing the door in the garage.
I was lucky, only a short walk to the safe.

I was parked on a slope. Trucks running, i hop out to work the gate, and click…1/4 mile walk back to the house and the first coathanger was too weak to work the lock or window buttons. I never noticed how hard of an initial click those buttons have. Even with a double bow, braced against the window and steering wheel, so i had to get a thicker coathanger. I was lucky the door only half closed, so i didnt hurt my seals.
