Are Chevy’s fetching top trade in dollar these days, with the “truck shortage”?

From the prices I see when looking at them I’d say yes. I definitely think my truck is worth more now than what I paid for it in July 2018

No good tundras. They want 35k here for leased trucks with 120k miles. My current truck isn’t the most advanced but it’s honestly all I need. The tundra is a want lol

Yeah, stick around. If you know your next truck will be a Tundra, there’s decades worth of experience here. Read up and you’ll be happier with whatever truck you end up with.

    Welcome

Just traded up from my 2012 Silverado.

Depending on budget/needs - I think your on a hood position with your current vehicle. I wouldn’t have traded in mine if I had something closer to what you have - having a. 2wd and 6 cylinder were just the main things that pushed me into something new…and as mentioned used prices are stupid at the moment, so I was lucky to be both in position to afford new and have been a fan of the Tundra for a while who took the opportunity to buy a “last of the v8s”.

Wait and see what the 2022s look like - then take advantage as it’s inevitable some people will “upgrade” to get the newest - better or not. Chevy is due for an upgrade in a year to so too - and who knows.

As to the market for used trucks - I really don’t think right now it matters WHAT nameplate is on it - if it’s got 4 wheels and a bed - you aren’t paying below sticker on new and dealers gonna act like it’s a scarce commodity used. Take a drive by a Nissan dealer - the fact they are selling out of trucks should tell you all you need to know about the current market.

That dark gray is pretty decent actually. Shame on me for not knowing the name of the color yet. I only like crew cabs for some reason and I’m going for 20” wheels but I could swap those in. Do you know if that’s a specific option on these trucks or do all of a certain package come with them? I actually like the stock black 5 spokes on the newer trucks or even the older black 20” on the G3 trucks

20" wheels come on the Limited, 1794 & Platinum trims that do not have the TRD Offroad package on top. If you'd like to pickup a set, just watch the parts thread: https://www.tundras.com/forums/3rd-gen-tundra-parts-marketplace-2014-2021.29/
