DB7F0E99-C5CC-40F9-824B-FD23338F9FD3.jpg The headrests are not bad at all. Leave the original fabric cover in place and pull the leather over it. It’s a hand workout, but they come out flawlessly if you just get the seams lined up correctly.

I did the basic factory/oem black kit.

The guy that did mine just left the old covers on the headrest, scored them w a razor blade, then covered them with a plastic grocery bag. He left the bag on, sprayed some soap and water solution on the bag and pulled the new cover over it all. He just tucked in waterever was left sticking out.

I'm planning to use the shopping bag, warming, and vacuum trick combined to see if I can make this as easy as possible. Didn't think about the dish soap though, I use it on my mountain bike grips and it works great there.

So the plastic bag just stays on between the leather and cloth. Humm.. Will try that if needed once I get mine.

How did the degreez in your 2014 feel on cool setting? Worth the extra coin?

All black with black perforated body paired with pacific blue stitching. I kept them simple because I was worried if I went with a more bold design I might get sick of it, can’t go wrong with black!
I opted for heated seat inserts, which to be honest do not get very warm at all, but then again I’m comparing it to my fiancée Mercedes which feels like you’re melting.

in any case I LOVE my seats!!

Katzkins Night Runner series. Not sure what the Night Runner series is but got them on eBay couple years ago for $399

For those that have done this, any regrets going from cloth to leather? I’ve never had leather seats in any vehicle before, so I don’t know what to expect. However, with 2 kids and a clumsy wife who once spilled an entire soda through my 4Runner sunroof (ask me that story),I feel the need to make the change for cleaning purposes and because these seats stain so much. But I have no issue with the comfort of my seats, so I’m hesitant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is no reason not to go to leather honestly. You've already mentioned the worst part of having cloth. I had Katzkin in my '16 for 4.5 years and 100K miles and they were still near perfect. I dont have kids, but they were great. I've already got my leather in for my '21, but haven't had the time to put them on yet.

Some of these Katzkins look really great. I'd have to do heated and cooled though. I really enjoy the fact that my cloth seats are never too hot nor too cold. And I've never met a stain I couldn't get out with some simple Norwex products. I'll have to keep an eye on how my cloth holds up with the dog and kids...they can be rough on cloth seats.

Yeah good luck with this. Just the wife and I and for no reason at all she decided to bring home duck sauce from the buffet because she didn't use it. Not in packets but open little cups. Not long after it's on the console and her seat. Thank God I no longer have tan cloth. The no eating rule is now no food rule. He have packs of duck sauce at home from when we get take out.

Yuck. Yeah that would suck to get out of the seats. We don’t eat in the truck, and my takeout goes in the bed, lol.

The only regret i have is that i didn't do it sooner. I waited a whole 3 years 50k miles later. Probably the best mod i've done so far.

I had a guy in Houston cover them for me. He did it all in 3 hours for like $350.

I went with all black because it looks factory. I did perforated leather on the inserts to help them breathe. I've had them for 2 years and would do it again in a heartbeat.
