You'll need two of these OEM sockets to convert your turn signals from 3157 to 1157.
    20210604_151036.jpg

And an LED compatible flasher relay. I have the $60 one in the Tundra, and the $10 in the corolla.

    https://www.diodedynamics.com/led-flasher-for-2000-2006-toyota-tundra-non-dtrl.html

Both of these ideas/products were recommended to me by @empty_lord

Hard to tell in that pic. Can you take a few more? I'm not sure if that's clear coat coming off, or just oxidation.

My 2001 has peeling clearcoat all over :(

Sitting in deserts for long ass periods of time didn't do it any favors. At least its rustfree.

In 6 months when desert vacation ends I’ll take more pics. Lol. I think it’s oxidation, wife says there is no peeling. The roof of the 03 peeled so I think she would recognize it.

Gave the bed a good washing and with no rain after 3 days, cloudy skies gave me urge to wash rest of him/her. Wished grandson lived closer so he could experience washing Paw’s truck before he gets it :)

    Washed.jpg

Bed cleaned up pretty good and will be pondering if I want to address the rubbed issues on most of the ridges or after 17 years let it ride and let grandson deal with it. The A.R.E. topper, tailgate, driver side door handles and bumper shell should be back from paint shop sometimes next week. There will be no rush to put things back, except driver side door handles.

Had that same color and wish I still had it for my grand daughter. I did hang onto 70 Cutlass like the one below but will never part with it. Tammy will have deal with it after I'm gone.

Im curious under what kind of environmental conditions and neglect does clear coat peeling occur? I’ve probably waxed my truck 3 times during ownership and just routinely wash it now with it sitting outside indefinitely and haven’t seen it happen to me.

That's a lot more than some people. I honestly think that even folks in the desert could avoid clearcoat peeling if they just waxed their truck once a year. We lived in Florida for a while, and now in TN(where the sun is still brutal) and the paint on our 2012 Rav4 still looks good. My brother owned an F-150 in FL for almost 20 years and still had his clear coat. He waxed it every 1-2 years I think. It was never garaged once.
