I love those Raptor's but wouldn't touch that EB with a 10ft pole. Shame they aren't like the 1st gen.

Ford habitual breaks are allergic, so badly that the pictures even broke.

Ahh, you're thinking they purchased the tow truck at the same time as the Ford, to keep the miles off that pile-o-shat. Like it:)

Yup! I’m glad he wasn’t out when I snapped the picture. But then again, would have been an opportunity to brag on the Tundra.

Man I genuinely feel bad for folks that have to go through such ordeals. Vehicles cost a ton of money and it really sucks having to take the 'walk of shame' back to the dealer.

I feel bad for those who don’t have the opportunity to realize what a poor decision they are making.

If you buy a high end Ford/Ram - and unless you are one of the few people out there without internet who were lucky enough to fall ass backwards into a pile of cash - it’s presumable you have both an internet connection of some type and have worked to afford such a luxury.

So you have both opportunity to educate yourself on the purchase and a reason to do so before paying down your hard earned money (or a commitment to do so over the next 60/72/84 months) - if you purchase - it’s on you at that point.

Dint get me wrong - there are Ford/Ram vehicles I would buy absolutely. But the Raptor/TRX amongst others just ain’t amongst them. 85k+ for ANY half ton truck is stupid when you can buy a nicely optioned Tundra high level trim for 30k less. That’s enough for a base model lightning after rebate basically - or enough to get you through the first year of mods after hanging out here a week.

To each their own - but if I was spending that kind of $$$ - it would probably be a well optioned 1 ton diesel - but I don’t need that size of vehicle - nor do I care to incur the maintenance cost on one of those.

The thing that “makes” a Tundra the better deal to me is not comparing to the entry/mid level trims - but in how much the Big 3 charge for high level vs Toyota. Yes, the Big 3 give you more “lux” features - but at the cost - I’m happy to make do with mid level lux and reliable vs constantly breaking down tech.

Mid level - it’s a trade off of reliable vs comfort…if you rely on your truck, that’s an easy call in my opinion. Easier to add touches aftermarket than make a unreliable vehicle bullet proof post purchase.

A lot of that is about ego and working real hard at being one of the cool kids. Some work harder at it than others. My dad used to say, "It was made to sell, not to work."

Agreed - used to be I saw more people driving way oversized trucks for their needs out of “ego” (or something else).

Now it’s driving trucks that resemble an Escalade with a bed.

Again - to each their own. But it’s funny to read the rants they go on complaining about their trucks - as if the warning signs weren’t there to start.

    Ha ha… but spot on.

My neighbor purchased a new turbo V6 Raptor, then had it supercharged and all kinds of flashy as well.

From time to time, the truck is gone for a few days, but he is still home. I'm afraid to ask him why.

The neighbor on the other side of me has the last year V8 raptor.

Daily driver with no issues over 90-k miles.
