Have done extensive search and no luck. I can only find threads about people trying to run LED pods using older halogen fog wiring. I'm not a wiring guru so help would be wonderful.

I have OEM LED fogs and getting an aftermarket bumper that will not fit the OEM LED fogs. I want to keep the existing fog light switch and wiring to wire in something like these: https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Single-LED-1530lm-Waterproof/dp/B06XHXLMYT/ref=sr_1_44?dchild=1&keywords=6+inch+led+bar&qid=1623012226&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_72%3A1248861011&rnid=1248859011&rps=1&s=automotive&sr=1-44#customerReviews

Can I simply get a H11 dongle (or whatever type as needed), hook that up to the LED bar and just plug the dongle into the other side of the OEM wiring connector? I'm trying to stick with low wattage light bars to keep brightness down (i.e. 18 Watts) but not sure what the OEM fogs/wiring is rated at. Or do I have to get a relay and inline fuse, etc. If so, what would that wiring diagram look like? Thanks!

I would go with relay and wire harness just because I to do not know what the factory wire and fuse was rated for. Buy a harness made for 2 lights not one. If you buy a harness online it should come with a wiring diagram but just in case it doesn't you'll have 2 plugs coming off the harness, these will plug into the lights, if your lights plugs don't match then change one of them ( light or plug) to match and that part is done. Next you'll have a red and a black wire these go to positive and ground. The positive side should have a fuse rated for what the harness can handle. I usually oversize the harness to handle more wattage then what my lights call for just to be safe. Wait to connect the positive side until the very end but the negative side can be attached to the negative battery or ground it to the frame somewhere. Lastly you will have a trigger wire, this wire would connect to the positive wire from your factory fog lights. Doesn't matter which side (left or right) you pull power from just make sure its the positive wire. Then cap the rest of the unused wires from your factory fog lights and your all set. Connect the positive wire to battery and test out.

18 watts is only 1.5 amps. I would do what you are planning on. Not sure the lights you are looking at are street legal.

Those lights would probably last one rainy day before they were shot. The pictures on Amazon show them being used as reverse lights. That’s probably all they are good for. Ide get a quality set of SAE 6” bars if that’s the route you’re going.

Thank you for the thorough explanation! That all seems to make sense. Not this exact one but similar to something like this correct without the on/off switch? https://www.amazon.com/Kairiyard-Un...fix=wire+harness+2+plug,aps,197&sr=8-17-spons

    Thanks gents, I'll keep looking.

Check out Diode Dynamics. They make 6” light bars for off road and street legal use. And they are top notch products that will last for a long time.

The Fog Lights fuse is in the fuse box of the tundra listed as FOG. It is 15 amp so you are good to go with H11 connector to the light. The lights you are purchasing need to have a Deutsch connector at the end of the light then you can run this connector from Amazon to your fog light inputs on the truck. H11/H8 to Deutsch DT DTP Connectors Convert Wire Harness Socket Adaptor for fog Led.

I wouldn't worry about street legal these are only 1500 lumens and are not going to be excessive. If the bumper they are going on projects them to the side a 60 degree flood angle may be too much for a sweet application because you will blind oncoming traffic. Maybe something with 30 degree range for bumper's that point the light to the left and right side of the truck. In off road the 60 degree is awesome because you can see the corners better. If they are pointed straight ahead these will be awesome. Here is the link to the connector: https://www.amazon.com/TOMALL-Deuts...+connector&qid=1623029780&s=automotive&sr=1-3

    This right here.
They are only 26 watts so maybe 4 amps.

They suggest a light duty harness so a simple DT to H11 harness will do just fine.
Diode Dynamics sells those as well.

Headlights aren’t even 1,500 lumens. But that’s irrelevant to the actual function of what makes a light street legal. The lumens is only a very small portion of it. Candela is what matters. But It’s the lack of any optics to prevent glare for oncoming drivers. Those lights are just leds that throw out light. There is nothing to prevent them from blinding people.

Thank you for the links. So between these two parts(links), it should be simple plug and play (i.e. Plug light bar using DT to H11, plug H11 harness to OEM connector)? No need to mess with any relays/fuses, etc? That would be great

Those lights are rated at IP68 so they should be OK. I have similar (Mictuning) lights on boat trailer for backup lights. They are submersible to one meter for 30 minutes. I have had them on there for 2 years and they work perfect. Not even any condensation. That said if I were look for some better quality for the front of the truck.

I've been using a set of those lights as reverse lights since 2015, took them off my superduty and put them on my tundra in '17, to this day I'm still suprised that there has never been any condensation in them. That said, they will blind oncoming drivers, unless you aim them so far down that they'll be useless, if you are planning on using them on the street. If back roads/offroad is your only intended use they're fine, but for everyday on road use, they just make you that asshole.

Lights in the front of a vehicle see a lot more forced pressure on them than a light that’s simply submerged in water. Driving 70 mph in the rain is like putting a pressure washer on the lens and seals.
IP68 is only rated for water submersion. IP68 is not rated for water under pressure. Technically, IP68 isn’t even rated for pressure exerted from a standard shower head.

That is correct. Make sure to order the SAE/Fog option that will give you the optimal pattern to replace the factory fog lights.
I linked the Ambers of course they have white too.
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/stage-series-6-sae-dot-white-light-bar-pair.html

These are well worth the extra money from the ones you linked from a quality standpoint but most importantly the beam pattern output.

I have the SS3 straight factory replacements waiting to get a chance to install.

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up going with the Diode Dynamics SS6 due to the 8 year warranty as well as SAE compliance. Plus the plug and play made it appealing. Hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future looking to do the same.

Where did you get your specification on the LED Tundra headlights? I would be interested in seeing what the lumens of the TUNDRA LED headlights are. Candela's is the same light measurement. It is the light range in LUX and distance angle of range that are all part of establishing a street legal light. Seriously, Candela is defined by the same properties as Lumen . Both are similar in their retrospective light measurement. Lumen is a SI derived unit, just as candela is. Lumen is a unit that is used to measure luminous flux. Luminous flux is a measurement of the amount of visible light incident on the human eye. Luminous flux also depends on the luminosity function. Luminous flux can be derived from the luminous intensity, which is measured by candela. So hopefully you have a better understanding of the term Lumen ; and get back to the subject at hand. @t4rTundra Just buy the rigid sr series pro light and buy the amber cover for it and that will minimize it's luminosity. Street legality , not my expertise to make that judgment call every sate has their definition of it, but I'm pretty sure LED headlamps for TUNDRA are brighter than 1500 lumens. There are bicycle lights brighter than 1500 Lumen. Besides most less expensive light bars all have higher specifications than they provide. Mostly glorified marketing. Seriously, a 21 dollar lamp set is not going to blind on coming traffic unless it pointed all the way to the left. I have 10" sr series pro driving lights for my fog lights and they are not blinding traffic, I stick the amber covers on them when I am in snow, rain, or foggy conditions to minimize glare. I drive with them on when I need them and no hassles even in good ole California, so given the specifications of the 10" SR-Series pro driving light in and the use of an ADD stealth fighter bumper I don't see this 7" 1500 Lumen light blinding oncoming traffic if installed properly and at the correct angle for driving. 60 degree angle is a bit wide for driving, usually 35-45 degrees for driving , because you need more light out in front at greater speeds.

I recall seeing it somewhere in here. Haha. It’s very long. But a very good read with all the lighting information from an engineering standpoint you can handle. Haha.

So did it work? I am currently also looking to do the same. Use the oem wiring harness for halogen fog lights and find plug n play to turn into led. Let me know I’m very curious.

Yes, I have already tested it and works off the stock fog switch with no issues! Plug and play, just make sure to get the harness to connect the DD SS6 to the stock wire connector.
