Plug and Play Brake taps

I am offering a small batch of these brake taps for anyone that might need or want one for the addition of a brake light. Such as a camper shell, soft topper, bed rack, or if you just want to wire a random light to come on with the brakes, I don’t judge. These are just a simple male/female tap with 2 short wire leads coming off of it. Blue is BRAKE+ and black is BRAKE- if you need it (I include it just incase. Tundras with an actual metal bed are easier ground than the composite Tacoma beds I suspect)

I am selling them for $25 ($35 for Canada), shipped. If you are interested, reply below and let me know. I will send a PM with payment instructions, and will ship on Saturday. I try to do these in batches as it is easier for me to produce them and to handle shipping. I hope this makes sense.

I have a deep hatred of vampire clips (tee taps), so I made these to avoid using them. The first batch is kind of small as I have no idea if there is any kind of demand for something like this here. But if more people are interested, please let me know in the replies and I will save your name for the next batch. Thank you for looking!

These can go behind either taillight, you just unplug the existing connector, plug it in to this, and plug this in to where that original connector was. Really straight forward, and no vampire clip to cause the eventual and inevitable failure.

Woohoo! Let me make sure I have the plugs. I know I’m good on Brake, Parking, and Reverse. Let me make sure I have the third one. I am pretty sure I’m good, but these connectors can start to look alike.

I suppose it would be a good time to mention that I can do more functions than brake. Brake is the most common, but I can also add a parking light tap to it, as well as make harnesses for turn signals (require two harnesses, I usually just make one side really long to run over to the other side). If you need a reverse harness, feel free to let me know. Depending on what you are looking for though, i usually send people @memario1214 way. He has some reverse taps that all set up for Baja Designs.

That's awesome. For all my rear stuff I tapped into the hitch wires. This would have been much better.

I will definitely ask about a custom harness in the future. What a great resource.

Awesome idea! I wish I had an application to buy these as they look high quality. Any thoughts on making something similar for the reverse light harness?

OK - possibly dumb question but I picked up a baja designs dome light to use for a bed light with my bed cover (I wanted the push button option) - I don't really feel like running a wire through the cab for constant 12v and figured I'll only use it when my lights/parking lights are on. Can you make one for this?

I'll need one for my 3rd taillight on my topper. I want to run bed lights too. Is there a wire set up for that?

 

I think this is just what I'm looking for. Need to hook up the third brake light on a camper shell I recently installed. Want to tap into the rear brake light for this, looks perfect.
