    Haha. Trophy trucks can’t even hang with us. They’ll either get pulled over on the highway on the way there or they’ll go home at the end of the day because they have nowhere to sleep and no chair to sit around the campfire. :D

    Well you can buy a used 6100 in the $100k range on race desert and have a few options, so that was somewhat of my basis and point, that's a lot of money with not a great price/performance ratio. But that's a whole different conversation.

    I haven't looked at the Tundras suspension geometry since I've specifically avoided LTing the truck. Totally different platform, but I've built two long travel kits with a fairly rudimentary design for a 3rd gen 4runner and they both pulled 14" of travel and I'm currently designing another kit (for the 4runner) with fabricated spindles and using stock 1st gen tundra axles I'm shooting for the 16" travel mark and theoretically am hitting that. So the Tundra being so huge relatively, and having way more power and weight behind it, blows my mind with how little travel it cycles. I'm well aware travel isn't everything, but again the price vs performance seems high compared to nearly every other platform out there.

    I'd still have a long travel tundra in a heartbeat if I could afford it, and I like to argue and like fancy suspension stuff :D

    @snivilous just on the rear:

    LT conversion was 12k otd. Bedcage fenders etc. Then I spent another 7k converting to 3" leafs. Then gears locker on the axle. Then the axle housing sing started cracking so if spent another 5k rebuilding the housing and adding a brace. So rear suspension and axle alone is around 27k.

    That's just an example. Once we start adding up all my armor, winch, camping accessories, electrical mods...

    Including the cost of truck itself I'm way over 100k. But I've never actually added it all up

    So my truck weighs 8k lbs. With that rear suspension setup I have 17" travel. It's good for 3' whoops and crawling big ass rocks. It's also comfortable and reliable and good for long distance trips

    Links are not good for technical trails. They hang low and if caught on a rock you'll lift a wheel in the air. Also when they articulate they do "forklift steer" so I've heard. Supposedly they won't track exactly straight in the rocks

    Oh and the leafs were 1500 then another 5500 for converting the frame hangers. I was the first one to do so I paid more for r&d but I they can be done cheaper now

    Links struggle with weight and none of us are light. I’m the featherweight of the group at 7100 lbs

    That's some bucks for hangers! I understand your arguments against links.
