I'm debating on doing something I know I've never seen anyone do yet. I know some people will hate it and some make thing it looks cool. My current rims are a -51 offset so they fling every drop of water or debri on the side of my truck. I like to keep my truck clean which is hard with a black truck. Lol. I would like fenders that will help eliminate some of the water. Nothing will be a perfect fix but it should help. I know I could do fender flares which I have in my garage but I'm not sold on the look yet. I can do fiberglass fenders but I think that looks best on a Baja or outlander build setup. So I've been thinking of doing the Honey D wide body front and rear fenders. I like the bolted look and I like the aggressive wide stance. Part of me thinks it will look good but it's very different from the normal style for sure. So what's your thoughts on this? Should I go for it or not?

This is the Honey D wide body kit. I only want to do the fenders not the front skirt.

I think it looks great if dropped. Gives it a sporty look if that is what you're going for. Don't like the lifted look on the GMC. Might look better on yours if not lifted that high.

that makes sense not sure if it would look good on a leveled truck now I think about it. the ones in the pic are lowered I assume

Yeah the only Tundras that have the kit so far are lowered. But they have done the wide body kits on other lifted brands.

It's a cool setup but just not for the lifted trucks. If mine was lowered I'd def buy the front spoiler

And from the looks of it, since the fenders taper towards the bottom and the since the the tires are not "in" the wheel well, it looks like the sides of a lifted truck will still get dirty, may help just a tab bit.

I'm kind of surprising myself, but honestly I like the way it looks on a lifted pickup. It doesn't look quite right on a Super Duty, but I think with the less "boxy" body style of a CM you'd be able to pull it off.

Thank you! For those who don't know already, I'm a modaholic. Lol If I'm not doing something to the Tundra I'm doing something to the Jeep JK Rubicon. I like to wrench and modify things.

I personally don't like these fenders at all.. :anonymous:
They look OK on a lowered truck, but even then I think they are too aggressive for a flare. It takes away from the body lines of the truck and adds a bubbly look to it.. to each his own though as you stated earlier.

If you are going to do flares I would go with the Air Design fender flares you posted about awhile back, they won't give as much coverage as the Honey D flares, but it would be better than nothing and look pretty sweet with your current setup

a few things, i think it could work.......
I'd have to see it in person though, sometimes pictures just don't do it justice or make it look weird.

maybe a flare that's in between a bushwhacker and Honey D in terms of size....that may look badass.

doesn't @Spvrtan have those on his truck???? i'm probably wrong but he does have some serious fenders.

@Spvrtan is running the pro comp fender flares. The Honey D fenders come in two sizes actually. They have a 2" flare and a 4" flare. I just hate their pricing. I'm not going to make decision on this for a month or so. I've got my gear swap first then I'll try and make a selection on the fenders. Thanks for the input!

I think they have the potential to look good, but I know you don't want to take any chances at that price point. You may want to email the company and see if they have any photos of their kits on lifted Tundras.

Yup I did that already. The rep is out of California. They are imported from Japan is what I was told. Unfortunately they have never done a lifted Tundra yet. At the time I had called they hadn't done any lifted trucks yet. So the ford and chevy shown above are more recent installs. The wide body look is very popular over seas.

Its basically a Rocket Bunny kit for the Tundra. To me that's more for the lowered look but I'm also a fan of people trying different things that aren't conventional.

I think it looks cool on either a lowered or lifted truck from the pics in this thread. My first thought was it's definitely a "street" look akin to sport-truck, but that lifted GM looks pretty badass with it, too.

I think it would probably look pretty damn good on a black CM. If you look at the GMC posted you see all the little black lines running between the body and the fender. But on the Chevy they're not nearly as prominent. I would assume on a black vehicle pretty much non existent.

One thing about these fenders is they are actually bolted on. Since they step out so far you do end up bolting them into the stock metal. So there is no turning back after you do the install either. I'm going to give it some time and see what I want to do. I may have a digital rendering done before I take the plung.
