    i am curently looking at some 1st gen tundy's tommorow
    and wanted to know what years are best i have been told 05-06 is the best years for motors

    i need to know things to look for as well as know issues with these trucks......
    i recently had my tacoma totaled and wanted something different
    any help or advise would be greatly appreciated

    Good choice with the v8 4Runner. The only downside I can think of would be having to replace a cracked manifold.

    Full disclosure, I just revived this thread because first gen was a little slow and boring that day. This was the oldest thread. Proof that first gen is the best forum.

    Back on topic. The V8 4th gen 4runner is one of the greatest toyota creations on planet earth. I intended to replace my 3rd gen with one.
