Interesting. Probs just speaking of the Hybrid, not full-electric.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Ford probably has something for you then.

If you're running on the philosophy that your wife always gets a new car before you finish paying off the previous on - so you always have a car payment, I see exactly where you're coming from.

I think what others are getting at, is that if you were planning on eventually paying off, and keeping her car - you basically threw away all of the equity you had in it.

Probably. It's the dealership service. My guess is tundras.com is more informed.

i will be all over tundra hybrid if its just a couple grand difference from non hybrid as it is with many other models.i have mostly city and short highway driving so hybrid fits best. now only if they dnt start hybrid with only trd pro and upwards only. SR5 hybrid makes much more sense to me.

Yea, my 20’ RIB cost more than my Tundra and I just sold my larger 30 year old boat for well in the 6 digits. Got what I paid for it When I bought it nearly 10 years ago.

The price on the hybrid will be the ticket. If I can get into a SR5 or TRD Off Road hybrid crew max for under $50K - $60K Canuckistani pesos, I'll be looking pretty hard at buying one in a couple years. Anymore than $60K and I won't bother.

Yep, Canadian pesos. Add 10 - 15% to USD pricing and you'll come close to CAD. $55K USD would be $66,500 CAD at today's exchange. No way I'm paying that for a half ton truck.

What or who is going to take responsibility for all the batteries that get shit canned after time?
I see this a much bigger environmental issue over the next twenty years.
Face it, this hybrid stuff is a major touch your toes here it goes routine for the greedy companies that don't have a solution.

Same here on the $55K. I want the Tundra so I'm waiting to see it's specs but there are also 3/4-ton diesels lined for that price in the Cummins flavor. If the new Tundra has vastly improved towing numbers and the price works, I'll stick with Toyota. It won't come close to towing like a 3/4-ton coal burner but it would fit my needs and won't be in the shop every year.

Yeah, once you get over about $65k, I'd at least be looking at a heavy duty truck.

Agreed. I've seen new GM 3/4 ton diesels for under $70K, especially during promo sales.

I've been looking at several RAM Night Edition Cummins right at 57K. At the end of 2020, you could get new 2020's for $50K. It's overkill for what I need so we will see what Mr. T has for us.

my buddy just dumped 75k on a new Dodge last winter. It had fancy ass air suspension that refused to pressure up any time the cold set in and he'd have to drive an hour to the rural SK dealership he bought it from with the truck slammed. More money more problems.

$75k CAD, judging by the fact his buddy had to drive to a dealership in SK (saskatchewan).

Can't get a TRX for under $100k in this country, and that's before any dealer markup.

For sure. Dodge are notoriously unreliable. Every oilfield fleet I dealt with dropped them and switch to GM and Ford. For an average user, diesel trucks are more expensive to run and maintain. Unless you tow or haul heavy loads all the time or put high miles on, a gasser is probably the best choice.
