Hey, I'm new here, looking for input. My 07 Tundra has a lit up dash like a Christmas tree. 4x4 lite on all the time and pretty much every other light that's in there. I saw a couple of videos that pointed to a bad solder connection in the transfer case actuator motors causing this, so I pulled both of them off and verified operation. Everything is clean, solid and works when supplied with power. However, I have a new problem in that it will not go into gear now. I can sometimes hear some gear grinding, but not always and not crazy bad. I'm sure this has something to do with the actuator shaft position. Need some help on how to proceed. Or am I screwed?

I cleared all codes, but I'm sure there are more again. Will check them tonight

in my case it was a rear wheel sensor. I read online a bunch of horror stories and rabbit holes. I just crawled under to get an idea.
I had remembered having a plastic bumper end go under the truck on the freeway and sure enough it had hit that sensor knocking it loose. It actually broke it but I straightened the leads and plugged it back together with adhesive silicone. Still hanging tough.
I should note I am in dry Ca with no corrosion problems.
Sensors are a quick check and gave exact symptom you describe.

I just reread and see your now having the not going into gear issue too. In my case this is 2 different issues.
I have never resolved the truck looking at you stupid when you put in park and it wants to roll away problem, slight grind when messing with shifter too. In my case I feel it is a sticking/failing solenoid but it has only done this 2 times. I am afraid however it will do it on a boat ramp one day:eek2:

When a CEL is activated, it will light up the trac and abs too. It just Toyota’s way of wishing you Merry Christmas any time of the year.
