Liquor store about 90 miles away in Wyoming posted to their Instagram that they were making some rarities they had available.

1 per customer for a lot of these items but I was able to grab more than the limit after talking to the owner for awhile.

Nothing like getting Blanton's at wholesale + 33%

Very curious about that Old Elk, my local store says it's good. But I have been burned before.

Tried it last night. Pretty hot but very palatable and balanced flavor profile. Slightly thick and oily mouthfeel. Up front you get dark fruit, leather, and caramel. Back end is alcohol and black pepper.

I dont mean to sound hoity toity but we have been trying to take our whiskey, scotch, and wine experiences to the next level. My BIL is a high level chef, he came over last night and we tried several ryes side by side then moved on to wheat and whated bourbon. This Old Elk Wheated was well received by the entire group of 4.

My go to for a night out at the bar playing darts or hanging with friends is Crown Royal, pretty much A safety that's at every bar/restaurant. Other favorites include Blantons, Angels Envy, Buffalo Trace and a local distillery California Distilled Spirits Young Prince.

Deffinatley going to look into a few in this thread

Not sure if I posted this already and too lazy to look…but got a bottle of this last Father’s Day and it’s pretty popular around here, like the local stores have a hard time keeping it in stock. I should’ve bought 2 last time…or shouldn’t have…conflicted. :monocle:

Do you mind if I ask what you traded? That SiB Weller is hard to come by and usually around $1000 aftermarket. I'd love to try it..

Picked up another bottle of the Angels Envy Rye. I also picked up a store pick of Angles Envy Port Cast. E6235682-1BA2-461F-8B95-F1A45A732D2C.jpg

Had to drive all the way down to NC to get my hands on the Buffalo Trace, it was definitely worth the drive to score the last hidden bottle. Also seen some good reviews on the Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt and decided to add that to my Peated Collection. Still on the hunt for the E.W Taylor, Stagg Jr, Weller, and infamous Papy V.

Buffalo Trace 1.75 is becoming more common in my area. Most places have a limit of one per customer though. EH Taylor is one of my favorites. Good luck on your search!

Buffalo Trace for me is like squirrels, I can find anywhere I look. Since you are in Virginia, if you haven't tried it yet get a bottle of the John J Bowman Single barrel, it's a BT product distilled in Fredericksburg. I like it better than regular BT.

Definitely not a sexy display, but COVID has certainly expanded my bourbon selection.
