What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I have the Nightshade Limited so they come black.

 

Has anyone changed the TRD PRO grille TOYOTA from grey to black? If so what method works best ... spray paint, plasti dip or other?

 

Sale at Grey Man Tactical if anyone wants the MOLLE panels.

Curious what you end up doing and how it looks. Thought I liked the little bit of grey but the urge to black out everything is still there.

Speaking of... @rrentrop any idea when TRD Off Road wheel overlays will be back in stock?

 

This is what I went with. I have some of his other products and they look great.

 

Since those are overlays I'll probably just install it in the next day and then buy the overlays. Thanks everyone

 

Yes I agree, IMO buy the right product for the job. Others might argue with me, but you don't want to be a statistic that we read about later...

Like most already have done I did the Pro grille today. I love the cheap HUGE upgrade this gives in looks.

 

Only gripe is with the truck not the cover. On my 4runner the belt clips stick out further and I can keep them exposed for the kids and on the Tundra they sit really low so ill have to fish for them when buckling the kids in.

 

The TVD decals don't cover the chrome completely, I bought them and ended up not using them. The AJT's are far superior IMO. If you still prefer the TVD's, you can have mine for free if you want them.

For today's endeavors I installed the black mirror caps and saved the bumper ends for another day because it's hot. Also got this in the mail and since it didn't come with any kind of instructions I'll be installing this later as well.


Edit: forgot to say I also de badged the truck. No emblems or stickers anywhere except the reflective tundra letters on the back and the Grey toyota badge in the grille. Sides are now nice and smooth.

You guys are right. Not sure what I was thinking trying to save a few bucks.

 

Getting my 35” spare underneath the truck. I cut the old spare guides off, past the crossmember so the spare doesn’t rub. I sprayed with a little Rustoleum paint to prevent future rust, then hooked up the new wheel. As I reeled it up, I pressed my feet against the tire, pushing it toward the front of the truck to give the Boss 4x4 shackles asmuch clearance as possible.

 

Installed CB bumper shims

 

Gave my hooks a nice coat of Cherry paint

 

Finally decided the 'Tundra' emblem had to go. It was the last of the debadging steps for me.
Then took it a step further and did a lesser done 'debadging' of sorts and did a de-vinyl on the door pillars. Looked great on Casey's LR. ( @RainMan_PNW ) Pretty happy with it on my cement too.

Was annoyed by the sun reflection all the way to work today. This is happening soon.

 

Man I would like to do the de-badging and de-vinyling, but I just know I would booger something up. Heck I would pay to have it done..if they would guarantee no damage.

 

I had the truck detailed and the guy said he would do the stickers but not the emblems because he was afraid he would pull paint up. He ended up pulling paint up under one of my paint protection stickers anyways. Took the truck to a body shop and they were going to repaint my under headlight panels and my drivers door so I told them not to put the emblem back on because I wanted them both removed anyways. They ended up putting it on anyways so when I took it back to have it taken off they took off the other side for me and both were fine.
