I’ll take the equivalent of the F150 hybrid. Give me a twin-turbo V6 with diesel-like torque and a power system that can run my trailer A/C or a few appliances in my home during emergencies. I want it in a crew cab, 6.5’ bed with competitive towing and hauling capacity.

Most importantly, it has to have Toyota’s quality.

Rubber Flr Mats w/Door Sill Protector, A.R.E "CX" Cap, BedRug Bedliner, Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller, Seatcovers, Westin 6" Oval Nerf Bars
    - Plug-In hybrid with 40-50 mile range on battery alone
    - On-Board Inverter to supply 120VAC from the hybrid battery when needed
    - 25-30+ mpg
    - 2500-3000 pound cargo capacity
    -12,000-13,000 pound towing capacity
    - 30 gal (minimum) fuel tank
    - Better ride quality when not hauling cargo or towing a trailer
    - Driver's grab handle
    - FIVE Star Safety Rating
    - 4WD
    - extendable towing mirrors FROM THE FACTORY on more than ONE configuration.

It has been said that some at Toyota and/or the dealer principals have called the next generation Tundra a "Gamechanger". In my book the only way a Tundra can be called that is if it includes at LEAST the first NINE items in the list above. Anything less than that and it's just a new Tundra to me.

In Canada, you can just order these and add them onto any trim.

It’s would be nice if the had more interior light like on the door maybe next to the coin holder accent lighting and USB port at every door handle by the coin holder or maybe docking stations. In the rear middle arm rest and driver passenger doors handles

Flat load floor in the rear of the crew cab. Much better premium audio system - ditch JBL! And of course all the power, large fuel tank, and much better mpg as others have mentioned.

and more payload and towing capacity...

More payload and towing capacity, I am pretty sure the towing is going up, 50/50 on the payload, or offer a payload package that is factory configurable.

I own a tacoma and I'm guessing my needs are a little different than most here
    - Hybrid with 30MPG
    - 20 gal gas tank (30 x 20 = 600 miles)
    - Enough power to pull my 16' aluminum boat up hill without struggle. I have to push the Tacoma a little harder than I like to.
    - More cabin space and comfort than the Tacoma.
    - Reasonable price
    - Up to date tech
    - Excellent reliability
    - Fit my garage.
    - Nobs, buttons, and switches. I like touch screens but I don't want everything on there.

If you're going to make the front bumper chrome, make the entire thing chrome. The black section in the middle is stupid.

    Bring back the CD player.

When my wife's phone is connected over Bluetooth so she can play some kid's songs for our daughter (since the truck no longer has a CD player), I really don't need to have a box pop up that I then need to ignore every single time she gets a text. How can that possibly not be in violation of distracted driving laws?

Have they got rid of the option to have those go away? On mine I have a small drop down from the top of the screen saying I have a text from so and so, and then it goes away after 3 seconds

How about a full box frame with other body/suspension beefing up for increased payload, tow capacity, etc., along with a straight 6 turbo diesel coupled to 10 speed tranny. Of course, won't get these either.

I didn't think so but maybe I'm not patient enough. Next time I'll try ignoring it for a while.

I had to go into settings to change it. I used to have the pop up as default and it wouldn't go away but I went into the settings; under phone I believe; and it changed how messages were shown.

I wonder if you have to have the phone connected to change it. I usually leave Bluetooth turned off on my phone to save battery so it doesn't connect every time I drive.

Cameras and Sound system, well, yeah.
12,000 lbs. towing... With a hybrid? You won't see it in 2022. Maybe 2050.
In the meantime, some news from 2029...
"The recent increase in "Lectro-Jacking" has citizens and businesses up in arms tonight as workers wake up to find their cars not charged, and businesses scrambling to stay open as workers once again can not get to their jobs. Here's Phil with more on the story. Phil?"
"Hi Sylvia. A brazen band of "Lectro-Jackers" has been hijacking neighborhood charging stations like this one behind me. After unplugging the cars, the power is siphoned off to a mobile battery truck, and that has residents on edge. None of the 35 cars in this lot has been charged overnight, and all the batteries were drained, leaving citizens and the police mystified. All except this man, who drives a good old internal combustion (insert your vehicle here)"

I hate to ask this but what's Ford claiming the F150 Powerboost's towing capacity (on paper) is?

More than that IIRC, if it's not it is at least north of 11k lbs. The extra ~500 lbs in battery don't take much away from tow capacity. 12k will be here within 2 years with either the F150 or Tundra hybrid.

Add in some manual crank windows, and An old school equalizer unit. I’m all over this new 2022 tundra. You know all screens do is break, stop working. Look at our cell phones. Those screens don’t last a year. LOL

I've owned a smartphone since 2008 or so. I've never so much as cracked a screen. Otterbox + buying phones with Gorilla glass = flawless screens.
