Will any, if any, recalls be listed as a part of your build? (sarcastic humor in light of the entertainment value I received from the Smart Stop Technology debate) Looking forward to your build, whatever you choose to do.

Used a GM mirror Gentrex one Compass and temp. below GPS. People ask why do you have a head unit with gps? Simple they dont update the headunits like the stand alone ones do.

    20150430_174135_713fbe92d7589d91c7c8a9ba169b53dd3405d936.jpg

Since mine was a sr5 and not limited that didnt stop me. I did a conversion from manual to power slider using all toyota parts. ( some welding was needed for the drive mount). The dealer did a double take and said how did you get a power slider in a sr5 that wasnt option i said simple conversion is.

Nice truck. After the Smart Stop thread, you are famous now, haha. Seriously though, you did have some very well-thought out posts and even though I disagreed with some, I do have respect for you knowledge.

Love your wheels. Those wheels look very nice on your truck. Your truck looks great blacked out If I ever get a black truck I would want to black it out).

Retro i will repost what i had in other thread. RETRO TIME....

There is alot to read here like to expand everything.. doing this in parts i think will help out.. pre install part first..

First off the projector kit.. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-retrofit-kits/bi-xenon-fx-r-stage-iv-kit.html#.VOdWf_nF-T8

I used the Fx-r 3.0 you can use the 2.5 its the same projector no difference in light out put just the difference in lens..

Shrounds use g37-r. Halos are up to you in this case but (IMO there are alot of problems with them about lighting up after months after the install that keep me from doing it why i dont have them.. using the kiss method on my install)

Next since im using the stage 4 kit i used the denso (toyota) ballast.. These ballast are excellent but not prefect (not water tight) you do that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hff2ecsB_uk you use a thermal conductive epoxy to seal the ballast up from water (took me 2 hours to pot them up) Found the stuff on ebay for like 50 bucks.. .... Main reason to use the toyota ballast they are excellent to avoid noise in the car. ( FM stations go out to car audio pulses can be hear on amps from the ballast on cheaper ebay ballasts) remember you get what you pay for.. The big advance is there warm up on the bulb is about 3 seconds flat... Yes 3 seconds... it was 14 degrees this morning and had the lights at full tilt at 3.5 seconds i timed it..

Bulbs i went with are the osram xenarc night breakers 66240..

If your ready to pass out there is about 600 bucks in lights right here...

For the fogs i used these.
    http://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...ox-fog-light-stage-3-kit-h1.html#.VOdb0_nF-T8

Matchbox is only for a fog light not for main driving lights... compact projector ..

    300 in fog lights.

Standard kit nice and compact for the fog lights.. They do have a high beam so when you hit high beam with your headlights they go high beam also..

    FX-R kit time..

Painting has started... remember to sand everything down in the light house so the paint can attacked without falling off later... this stage there are 3 coats of black on every coat is 24 hour drying time... ( alittle over board on drying time but worth it) I used black on the headlights and a grey hammered look on the shrounds.

    20140324_145500_76a8da429b1990e153609179972b34c68f9db167.jpg

Prefit the way i like the into the housing getting ideas at this point.. You have to be alittle engineer here but nothing no one cant figure out..

    20140324_210352_78ca50a2ea4129701cdb94ebac6f8d575faf0c86.jpg

After the lights where bolted in.. Bolted in your saw the correctly.. You can tell the projector is real. look at what the projector does to the flash on my camera...

    20140322_212114_1a7fc8bbf61fd4661bd7c6890b6adab799cbb574.jpg

This is set up time getting projectors straight and level... . My poor tacoma thinks in daylight now... If you look in front of my tacoma that building is 1000 feet away from my tacoma look at those bushs i think they need a trim... This is only 35 watts not 50 watts..

Just came from a bath... alittle wet.

After the install is complete with fog lights... Time start to finish 10 hours in headlights and 4 hours in the fog lights...

Things not done in pics do to night viewing problems.

Convert to LEDs There is not one filment bulb in the truck left.

Under truck at night time. Purple LEDS. Interior is purple also nice cool effect.

Your truck is extremely nice! Definitely my favorite 1st Gen out there. Those lights are freaking huge.

Old school is good! I wish there was a good place for subs in the crewmax. I do think like how it feels like I just have a box shoved back there. It's secure and sounds good, but I love how yours is tucked up under the seat.

sorry forgot to add the pic with the seat down. opps... old school is nice but parts and repairs are not happening as repair centers have moved on away from them.

There is a down side to the stepside. The suppliers for toyota are not making anymore parts or very little to to small numbers out there left, i have found and aftermarket is nonexistent now. Example: it took me 4 months to track down a bedrug and i found that by accident. thanks man alot more work to go.

That is one sweet Tundra.I especially like the GM mirror Gentrex and GPS.What is a Head Unit? That Power Slider window is awesome.Where did you mount the Drive mount. Now the Filter box is great how long did it take for ECM to get used to it.

Thanks man. Gm mirror puts a nice touch.

Sony CDX-GT930Ui. old unit 3 or 4 years old now plus.

    For the slider.
This is tricky. If you have a manual slider it must be replaced for power slider one do to latch at the bottom on the window. ( dont replace the slider yourself only let a glass dealer do it) Drive mount i got it straight from toyota. You do have to weld the mounts in place ( very careful on the HEAT its on sheet metal. blow a hole right thru your body. All you have to do it heavy tack it into place on 4 sides on the mounting bolts. ) Toyota will sell you everything you need to do a conversion all the way to mounting tabs. Just dont tell them your doing a conversion... All said and done there is about 1200 bucks in that conversion. Its all OEM parts.

For the ecm. it took about maybe 15 miles and it relearned it.

How do like your Viper 5904? Supposed to be pretty decent. (I recognize that muffler. Did you take mine? I better go outside and check my truck) :cookiemonster:

Honestly I like the viper how you can expand it out from windows rolls up and down to sunroof action all the way to startsmart via cell phone. Had it almost 3 years trouble free, I have two of them. Tundra and tacoma. Tho the 5904 has been discontinued the 5906v has taken its place, only difference the remote.

Borla is other install and forget piece on the truck. People steal catalytic converters before anything else on our trucks.

There are still some 5904's on Amazon. They have the 5906V for only $10 bucks more ($294). Something to add on my "would like to do someday" list.
