Hey guys, Lurked here for a year or so now. Ended up having suspension problems about to hit 200k.

Changing inner and outer, tie rods, lca, Uca, sway bar link… and changing fronts to 6112 and rears to blister 5100.

    My two questions,

    1) what should I have 6112 and 5100 set to so I can still tow my little 3,500lb trailer and have the proper rake?

    2) lower control arm removal and replacement?

I’ve searched the forums and search engines. Just need some guidance!

thank you ahead of time, fun community here.

I can’t help with the shock height question, but the lower typically comes out without too much of a fuss. There’s a chance depending on where you live that the bolts that hold it to the frame are seized and will have to be cut out so you might want to order new alignment bolts just in case. And when you put it all together put a little antisieze on the bolts.

What kind of trailer? If this a camper, your weight distributing hitch will make the truck ride level...as long as you know how to properly set up the WDH.

Would this be considered “cam bolt”?

It’s a cargo trailer I use for my renovation biz, it’s a little 5x10 chopped down to fit in my garage.

There is a chart out there that lists 5100s, 6112 clip heights and lift based on model- I recall there is a difference in Tundra and Sequoia in clip settings and actual lift height. I have seen it on Tundras.com but it was a long while ago. I may have also seen it on toytec website. Or you could just give toytec a call. I believe Sequoia clip settings were lower vs Tundra for the same amount of lift.

I assume I’ll be using #1 at the 6112 but with the rear 5100 set at highest will it look level?

I’m not trying to lift it crazy, I’m okay with a inch even stock level is fine. I just don’t wanna look like all lopsided and such.

I’m afraid I’ll have to lift the rear to compensate but I don’t want to mess with my air bags.

5100s in the rear do not lift the truck at all. They are just replacement shocks and work with stock rear suspension or up to about an inch or inch and half lift.

Yes I would try the first clip which should put you about 2 inch lift in front. See how that works- may need some time and few miles for the coils to settle into true ride height- could be higher when you first install.

As far as lifting the rear on a sequoia with the air suspension- I did see a thread on this site about someone that found some sort of spacer lift for the rear designed for the air suspension. Search function in top right can help you locate it. But I would see how the truck sits once the 6112s are in and settled first, you may not need to do anything to the rear.

Oh, I thought I read that the 5100 raise it 0-1" but maybe that was specified to something else or the fronts.

-- Searching threads now, I'll most certainly wait for the fronts to settle down a couple weeks before deciding on the rear. If I end up doing the rear lift I want to see if there are anything else I should be working on whilst the wheel is off.

Thank you a million for the replies. If I can just get this tree riding smoothly again and safely for my family, I will be a happy camper.

Never really gave much love to my truck when I bought it at 80k miles, but I want to pamper her now. Very excited to fall in love again.

    Hey there guys,

After doing some research I found on REVTEK that they sell spacers to raise the front at 2" which my 6112 will do already and have instructions for raising the rear 1.5" - 2" just from the air bags.

My question is, will my new rear shocks be affected by this? Do I need to extend or do anything to the rear shock?

    TIA
