You can, unfortunately this requires a textbook, math, and participation. Today is an online exam monitored remotely via Testtrac so that wasn't an option.

I had to take a proctored exam for my CPESC cert last year. It was my first run at remote proctoring, and was somewhat comical now that it's over. Got in, proctor made me absolutely rip my office apart and cover things up so that I wouldn't "cheat". I have old topo maps on my office walls that I used for mapping & survey classes in college... had to rip those off because god forbid I look at a 1900s USGS print of South Dakota when calculating soil loss for an example project in Connecticut. Then, when I was holding my computer and doing this weird 360 motion to show that there wasn't anything affixed to the bottom of my desk, the ethernet cord unplugged and booted me from the lobby. 15 minutes later when I got re-connected, I had to do the entire screening all over again. I think I made it into the actual exam 1.5hrs later than my initial testing time. By the time exam was wrapped up, I hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch, was mentally fried, and could have killed someone.

I'll never do a proctored exam again. Far easier to just sack up and drive to a testing center where I can steal all of their fancy pens.

I usually do it in person but this year the closest one was in Philadelphia, I'm in Erie. So my 2 day training would end up being 4.

If it appraises within $50k of what they ask, they'll likely get it.

Question, the airbag connector in the new to me steering column is broken. The junk yard prob didn’t know how to disconnect it properly.

I’m fairly sure I should be able to change this part out with the one I have but wanted to double check with you all.

Any issues with changing out this clip? Seems like it’s connected to a round plate behind the wheel...

I read an article a few months back talking about the housing market and prices. It stated that around 11% of Americans moved last year. That's 36 million people. Low supply, high demand, and record low interest rates have made prices explode. Locally, they said the lumber shortage made new single family home prices jump by over $30,000. A lot of people were able to leave states they didn't want to be in because they can now work from home. I can't really blame them.

The house across the street from me sold last year for ~75k more than it was worth. No effect on my property taxes.
The house 2 doors down sold for about that same margin a few weeks ago. Hoping for a similar effect on my taxes.
I figure since property taxes are in arrears, and controlled/set by the government, it'll take a few years for 2020/2021 real estate sales prices to affect property taxes.

I don’t know why, but someone obviously didn’t take their ESD training this year…

I wish I could take a pic, but someone brought an O-scope into the software lab today and there’s commercial carpeting on the floor. Some of the guys here are having fun rubbing their feet across the floor and triggering the scope without even touching it.

Yeah, that won’t damage it.

Are you in corn country? How much big city traffic do the Poconos get?

Family aside, this is how I would choose where I want to live. It looks like the poconos is pretty good. @Darkness knows the good color here.

I hope people keep voting with their feet. It will be an interesting and hopefully positive change for this country. Spread that money around naturally.

I've seen a few guys that had something happen on the trail to where they had to remove their rear driveshaft and drive home in front wheel drive, they said it was fine. I'd just baby it while turning on pavement.

Won’t hurt anything. This is how we diagnose these kinds of issues.

AWD would be an issue. But with true 4x4 it’s like driving FWD.

They’re not designed to be replaceable connectors so I doubt it. Airbag system = replace broke things sadly

I'm at my brother in laws house, the same one who did the famous towel rack repair. I went to use the restroom downstairs and heard water dripping. I noticed a small bucket under the angle stop that was full of water, so I dumped it in the house plant and asked him what happened.

The toilet has been running. He didn't know how to fix it (replace the $4 flapper) so he thought he would just shut the valve off. Its the original valve from the 80s, so of course now it leaks and it didn't shut off. To top that off his kids destroyed the seat so there is no lid now, the lid is on the floor beside the toilet. In total, the lid is on the ground, the flapper is rotten, the toilet is running, the shut off valve doesn't shut off, the shut off valve leaks, and his house plants are getting more water than they could handle.

Sometimes I tell my wife she should be happy she married me. That sort of slacker stuff I could never live with.

    20210521_142426.jpg

Edit- for anybody who missed the towel rack repair.
