    We're trying not to let the sushi guys completely take over Tundras Live.

    Just wait @Nowhereman-san. Many of us that frequent the Live are samurai of the raw seafood clan.

    I'm not saying it's not; I've never tried it. I just like to adhere to earlier, simpler times when all photos were accepted here, regardless of their fish content.

    Fun fact for all of us. Didn't know this until google taught me a minute ago:

    Contrary to the belief of so many, the word sushi actually refers to the 'vinegared rice' used to create the various delicacies we've come to collectively call sushi. ... For example, those not exactly keen on the rice itself can order sashimi, which is simply a serving of sliced raw fish of the finest quality.Apr 18, 2014

    yep love some sashimi too as long as it’s at a solid sushi place. I work for the USDA and we visit poultry farms all the time. I honestly don’t know how I still eat chickens after being around a composter. Let’s change gears here...

    I like most sushi with most fish, sashimi I prefer salmon. The only one I don't really care for is Tuna sushi/sashimi. Just don't like the flavor or the texture.

    Calamari? Only ever had it fried, but I love it.

    Fried is always good with panko I like it better. I’ve had it sautéed at a really good Italian place and it was far better than fried rings.

    Oh, I forgot! First time I tried calamari was in high school. One class had a Korean Day so we all found recipes and made Korean food to share. The teacher had actually served her mission there, so she brought in some really authentic stuff with ingredients from a Korean market down in SLC. She made some spicy calamari, and it was to die for! She didn't think kids in Wyoming would like it, so she didn't prepare much. No one got more than a spoonful to try, but everyone that tried it loved it. She felt kinda bad for thinking we would be closeminded about it.

    Yep
    Sushi=rice
    Sashimi=no rice.
    I was told in Japan that it's ok to use your fingers when there's rice, but chopsticks without rice.
    And then there's rolls...

    Sushi is great but, expensive if you go in hungery.
    It's not uncommon for my oldest to drop 200 plus on Sushi when he takes his wife and kids out with himself eating the most.
    He told me last week if he knows in advance they are going out to Sushi for dinner, He loads up on a couple of Sonic foot long chili cheese dogs at lunch to take up some space.

    This is the original BS thread actually. There was an insurrection about 18 month ago and some of the members active in the tread were banned from posting. A new BS thread was started and most daily stuff happens there now.

    Unless you’ve been banned, all are welcome to post here and chat about just about anything. Our ADHD appreciates new distractions and pics…
