I was to afraid to get in it after i saw the price tag! Just poked my head in the door
I had a Four Wheel Camper with my tacoma but sold them both to purchase the new tundra but in the future i may go with a flatbed model.

Awesome! i appreciate the detailed pictures and will save these as a reference. Definitely wont be going any bigger then the 295s to avoid the CMC.

Nice! There's a company up here that makes custom campers called Cache Camper. They made this one for my wife's older Tacoma:

It was pretty cozy. I built a bed with storage underneath it for her before we drove across the country and back. Between the two of us and our dog, it was perfect. :)

The one i had was meant for the long bed tacoma but it worked just fine on my short bed. Went on a 3500 mile road trip through Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Nevada last summer to vist the national parks with no issues. Now i just need to plan a trip to Alaska!

Nice man! Those are beautiful. When I first went to the dealership, they had one of those on the lot. I checked it out, went home to talk to my wife about it. Decided to buy a Tundra, called back maybe 3 hours after I left, and somebody had already come in and bought it. Went back the next day, which is when I found my Quicksand.

In the end, I'm pretty stoked about my truck and how it's turning out, but that Cement Pro is just gorgeous. Can't wait to see your build!

Have you been to Joyce Kilmer Wilderness area yet? It's on the NC border and is the last and largest stand of "old growth" east of the Mississippi r. If not, it's a must!!

Go a little further to Slickrock Wilderness. That's where i lived for about 7 years. You can get lost easily so if you wanna test your skills then this is a great place to do so. I used to teach a college level Advanced Navigation class and we would send our students out for 2 nights with map/compass/minimal food and a headlamp. All travel had to happen at night. It was so much fun to teach some millennials how to navigate

Now that's awesome!! I wouldn't mind taking one of those classes at all! I'm an okay navigator but I can always improve on any skill I have!

I think QS is the best looking color for that environment. Something about it just works, especially when it's dirtied up. looks good with the topper too. I'd do the same if I were up there....

Navigation WITHOUT GPS is my ball of wax.

I've walked all over the Blue Ridge mtns, the Sierra Nevada, and been in the Rockies for 4 years and haven't even begun

Kids and wife and job really but a damper on what I think is important :frusty::frusty::frusty:

Yeah, you're not allowed to use GPS on land nav courses. I've had to do unknown distance land nav on a timed course. Guys got themselves all messed up trying to navigate the thick Ft. Benning woods using dead reckoning, up and down hills and around trees, not realizing they're getting their azimuth all jacked up as they navigated terrain features. The trick was all in terrain association. On those courses, you're not allowed to use the roads and will get an instant disqualification if you're caught on them, but they never said you couldn't skirt the roads. ;) Did one course once where I ran the whole thing and blew out a pair of boots, second to finish and my feet were soaked with blood.

Yep, the Air Force is the easy life now.

I know that feeling. I did a mountaineering corse in Alaska (Chugach range) and we had raced the last 17 miles out. My feet were trashed but my boots help up.

I went to school for Wilderness Leadership and that was my forte. After I finally figured out how to adjust properly for declination I started to excel. We were at like 12 degrees where I trained and it was a difficult mind programming for most of the people I was with.

You might like this...when I lived in Tahoe we lived next to t h e ski resort and there was all kinds of terrain to play in. We built a disc golf course that required a compass. We only had 9 holes but would change them a very few weeks. The player walked up to the first tee box and was given range of bearings to throw. The next throw was blind. The basket you ended up at gave you more bearings, and so on. It was a ball with a 6 pack sleeve of natural light!!

In Alaska we never hit a trail in 3 months and had to have navigation skills!

Right, it only lets you choose one when you register. I was 8 years Army before I switched to the Air Force in 2015. You can find me on ar15.com as well. I've got both icons there, and there, you have to provide a DD214 to site staff in order to verify your service before you're granted the icons and access to the .mil forum.

I'm at JBER, i.e. Anchorage. Cool you got to come up. I'm never leaving, except for vacations. There is no better place in the states as far as I'm concerned. :)
