6” no resonator. I love it. I only feel bad for my neighbor on early morning cold starts. Don’t know if the resonator will really help enough, I did turn my truck around so that the exhaust tip is pointed the other way, but the front of the engine is just as noisy right by their bedroom window. Haha

I have had it for over 2 years. I towed a trailer for over 6 hours with my mom and she never complained. We had normal conversation. I have been on several conference calls from truck with no issues. I had the 8 inch. It was too loud for me.

I love my 10 the way it is. My resonator is just sitting in the garage.

Is there an option to pay less with no resonator?

It's been a while, but I thought that the resonator was an add-on, for a nominal price...

I would hope but just looked at the site and saw no mention either way about a resonator. I guess I should call....

There does seem to be a few folks that want to buy the resonator. So there may be a small market if you want to sell yours instead of install it. Check out the top post on the page

I’m interested in the resonator if stainless - I live in the rust belt. PM me if anyone wants to sell.

I’ve had my 10” SS installed since Christmas without the resonator, had no problem with the small amount of drone. Wanted to keep it that way till I got my RV. Ran a 50 mile trip last week pulling the trailer and yes the drone was more prominent but it’s not intolerable, besides the wife didn’t complain even with the windows down. I’ll see how it goes with an upcoming 3 hour trip, for now though the resonator is staying in the box.

I know we all hate the mpg topic but can anyone actually confirm any mpg increase with this system? I need some selling points for the wife....:anonymous:

You will negate any MPG increase because you will be on the throttle more!!!:bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

I actually tried to test this on my previous Tundra.

I averaged about 15 mpg with stock exhaust over 5000 miles mixed driving highway and local - mostly to/from work. When I replaced with BAM, I reset the mpg and drove 5000 miles pretty much the same combination of highway and local, and got 15.5. I was probably heavier on the throttle with BAM than stock (to hear the sound), so maybe another tenth or so more would’ve been possible if I drove the same as I did with stock.

    Not huge gains but some....

That's what I was kind of expecting and sounds way more realistic than the advertised 1-5 mpg

x2. I have a wife and 2 kids (11,7) and no complaints from them, but i had an Sti (the Subaru variety not STD variety) before this. I roll down the rear window when i really want to hear it. I'm reluctant to install the res as i like it so much currently.

I have a topper and i live at 5,200ft above sea level. Not sure if either affect the tone, but i don't have any unpleasant drone even on road trips going up big hills.

So I have a Carven exhaust that I love, wife bought it a year or so ago. It's great but it can have some drone, most notable when she or family are with me and have to keep the radio down. If I got a resonator from dirtydeeds, could I add it to that system? Anyone know?

Carven has 3 inch diameter pipe. The saddle on the resonator is designed for the 2.75 inch Toyota pipe. Keith could probably say whether the saddle can get around the larger diameter or I’m sure he could make one that could.

Also, I don’t know how close the carven tailpipe routing is to stock. The resonator is 26 inches long so the mounting location determines the angle coming off the saddle.

Worth calling him. If it can be done, he’ll do it. Great people to deal with.

Just installed the resonator..What a difference! I ran without it for about a year.. It doesn’t effect the crisp tones under acceleration but it does eliminate ALL deep drone at low rpm! I’m in the WITH resonator camp..

Install note..I attempted to drill the hole in the tail pipe and got shavings in my eye..:annoyed:Yes I had safety glasses on! So after a trip to the eye doctor, I REMOVED the tail pipe and then drilled the hole! Much easier and safer!

I still have no plans to install the resonator. I guess me and my family have gotten even more used to the "drone"

Same here. I towed a lot this summer and the wife and kid aren't complaining. The drone really isn't drone anymore. It's my truck being loud. 10" SS.

    Not nearly enough room here!
I've had Keith's 10" system for several years. Resonator went on with the system. Just ordered a 14" during the group buy. We tow 4-500 miles each way on vacation and this last time, the 10" was getting to me while pulling the hills. Keith called one evening with answers to my questions. We spoke on the phone like we've known each other all our lives, just like we did 7 years ago when I called about the 10" system.:D
