cleaning went well she got aggressive and did a better job than the last one did and I told her that

There was a dentist filling in for my dentist since she is on maturnity leave

He wants me to do 2 things

See a oral surgeon to get my last wisdom tooth out

And 2 talk to my regular dentist about getting a crown on a tooth
It’s on the left upper side and in the same position as the other 2 that have failed

He said he can see the filling starting to have cracks and the tooth starting to darken slightly he said a crown would fix it no root canal needed

    Everything else looked great

The hygienist said I do need to come in at least every 4 months for a cleaning since I do have parendantal disease

    I go back aug 18

Huh, I don't know many people that do. But I still have my tonsils, which is unusual for someone my age.

Damn, now I feel incomplete. Like I'm missing parts that I shouldn't be.

Not giving medical advice, but I'd get that gone. My problem is that my jaws are too small for the full compliment of teeth. When I was a teenager, all 4 wisdom teeth and two others were gone, oral surgery and it sucked.
Probably why I've only gone to the dentist for 10 out of the last 30 years. But now I'm down to 24 teeth and 22K into it. Don't follow my advice.
At least I'll never be the male Linda Lovelace.

You're a freak of nature, atleast around here you would be :D

Yep, no wisdom here, teeth or not. Ask my wife.

So, speaking of expendable body parts. In the 1950s my mother had some kind of female surgery. Pennsylvania law at the time required a surgeon to remove the appendix if he was in the area. She had an appendectomy without having appendicitis.

It was common practice to remove so emergency issues wouldn't arise later. As no one fully understood the appendix. Now it's left unless visible issues with it while there. Now half the time when you go in with appendicitis, it's antibiotics vs surgery. So not all appendicitis gets an appendectomy these days.

Hey Rich, you might want to get a good cardiologist. There is a fairly high correlation between periodontal disease and heart disease. Take care of yourself!

That totally makes sense. But does the appendix have a function, other than to get infected?

I still have my tonsils but the Army had my wisdom teeth removed even though they were not causing any issues. That was over 30 years ago and I can still feel where they used to be.

To be honest I'm not 100% positive on it myself. I've read and heard it helps the immune system to a degree. But I have not read or done the research to verify those claims.

I had mine removed while I was in high school so my parents insurance would pay. Mine didn't bother me either.

Check the build link in my signature.
Had one out when I was about 2. I guess I tripped while teething on something and essentially cut one of them out when what I was chewing on rammed into the back of my throat.

the other came out in high school after it abscessed

wisdom teeth came out in high school as well.
