Got my cat plates from Valhalla and spray painted them black. But the dog walked all over so now they're muddy lol. The plan is to install them this weekend and I'll post pics when they're on

    Working on it.
Got the MHX cooler installed last night. It was a breeze!

Only thing I am going to add is putting some abrasion wrap on the hoses. Otherwise, the kit was complete and well built. Unloaded drive home on the highway with the thermostat unpinned showed a 10-15 degree decrease compared to the drive in.

I got the aftermarket 46 gallon tank installed last year in my '15 and love it! It's going to make a huge difference in towing the trailer this Summer.

This thread is for "what did you do to your Tundra today?"

Talking about Covid-19 or its origin, Fuel prices, Tornadoes, Health issues, or anything other that what you did to a Tundra isn't a good idea. We have general BS, health, fuel prices, and pretty much everything else under the sun on there other than politics.

    Thread re-opened per @Ericbike6.

Ok so I replaced my stock HU the other day, while doing so the battery negative was disconnected. Hooked everything back up and the truck wouldn't start. The battery was mostly dead, so I charge it up. to ~50% or a little less. It tried to start for 2 or 3 seconds then started. Phew.

Ever since then, the truck continues to take a few seconds for the engine to turn over. It didn't do this prior to the new HU install.

Coincidentally, I take the truck in this morning for an Oil change/tire rotation, and mention the delayed start issue. They are telling me it's likely the Immobilizer causing it.. either it's going bad, or the key itself is having communication issues with it since there's a chip in it that sends a signal at engine start for security... This particular key is pretty new - I got it new last Summer and had a different Toyota dealership program it.

My other thought is maybe it's something with the fuel pump? I did get the TransferFlow tank installed last year, but again, the issue never happened until after connecting the battery back up following the radio install (could just be coincidence!)

Curious if anyone has dealt with their immobilizer like this before...
Oh also, the dealership said the battery was fine.

I was picking up BBQ the other day and I heard the tap tap tap while driving, I hoped it was a rock, but instead a self tapping screw, was about an inch long and my worn out ridge grapplers somehow didn’t get punched through, I slowly pulled it out and spit on the hole to see if air was coming out, I was damn lucky

Installed TPO front bumper shellz from Ecoological. @EC1 Very pleased with how it turned out. Messing with the parking sensors was the trickiest part.

Haven't completed the wiring for my AMP Powersteps yet. All doors work except for the driver door. If anyone knows which wire to connect to for a 2017 let me know. :annoyed:

Dang you.... I'm torn between color matching all the chrome on the front or doing the blue grille and black bumper... I think I'll get my grille pieces painted and installed and then decided once I can see my truck in person.
    Truck looks awesome!

(Narrator's voice) He would later find out that the battery was, in fact, NOT fine.

How old is the battery? I'd start out with that, swap it with a new one and see what happens. I had a bad battery that tested fine twice at the dealership, then the third time they finally identified a dead cell and swapped it under warranty.

Thanks @poheller! I'm really happy with the feel of the tomahawk shifter. I am going to refinish it since I'm planning to get rid of the chrome and silver from the interior, but life has this on hold. Pics will follow eventually lol

Thanks Robert! I'm very happy with how it's coming together. 6112's @ 1.9" and 5160's going on this weekend.

Black bumper is much cheaper than color matched front corners. I think both would look good.

My Mountain Hatch showed up today. So I installed it. It’s basically a big food-safe cutting board for your tailgate. They’re expensive but I found one on their outlet page (cheaper due to a minor defect of some kind), so I used the site wide 20% off they’re running to get it even cheaper. Still wasn’t actually cheap. But we will use it a TON. It seems like our kids are constantly eating. And we prefer to chop something fresh for a snack instead of open a package. So we aim to get our use out of it. The cupholders are a nice touch, and I opted for the orange because I thought it would be easier to see the cupholders when it’s dark out.

    Installed:
    E07D8443-2DFE-449E-B4C9-0000B88B8CB3.jpg

And this minor discoloration is probably why it was on the outlet (discount) page:
    5A4467B5-9824-4BFB-B0D3-C32680E5CEE0.jpg

Bonus: seems like it reinforces the tailgate surface. Our tailgates are pretty flimsy as many here have found out the hard way.

I'm not sure I'd want a food grade surface mounted to my tailgate that I intended to use for food grade prep...I haul everything from bull shit (literally) to hay in my bed.
Or are you just using it as a nice flat surface (compared to the lumpy stock surface)?

No. I went with the Spider “no drill” roof rack. Check him out on IG or YouTube. Also has a website with videos. This product is pretty amazing. I was able to have him do the install, seemed pretty straight forward and fast. No issues after a week of driving. Solid as a rock. He is a super nice guy and came up with a great idea. Stands behind his product with ZERO BS!! Surprised more people didn’t catch on when he posted and introduced himself on the forum.

I’m literally never hauling poop or hay. Lumber, bikes, mulch, maybe gravel. It’s held in by 8 screws. I’d remove it for mulch or gravel. Takes a minute to remove with an impact driver.

We’ll use it a ton on our many camping and road trips. A quick wipe-down before each use, and I’m good to prep food for five. :headbang:

    Moved on to 4 digits.

Had it since 3/17, still working from home 3 days a week, I used to average over a 1000 per month, now it's just over a 1000 in two months.
