Unfortunately this was how many of these conflicts were fixed in history. Presently our world is smaller and you have to want peace. What makes us different are the things we manifest. We all bleed red.

It’s a little more interesting now given the peace coalition under Trump, they are all still taking. Saudi / Iran. Bibi telling EVERYONE to stay the fuck out of it. Between Iran and hamas the iron dome and David’s sling this could get real interesting. Israel is lucky Bibi is still in charge

    Is it really unfortunate tho?
The very notion of peace goes against nature.
In nature, you find balance and harmony. You do not find peace. There is constant struggle. Force meeting force for territory, food, breeding, and resources.

Imagine the ME in terms of the animal kingdom. The lions and tigers are in conflict over the same territory.
In nature, the stronger group would prevail and assume possession of the territory.
If the animals acted as humans, the hyenas and vultures would provide aid to one side or the other (often both), feasting off the carrion of both sides as well as collateral damages.

Peace, like control, is an illusion. A bill of goods, sold to those who see what [they think] can be instead of what is.

Reminds me of a rant in an Ayn Rand novel. That's a compliment coming from me.

Anybody know what first gen build it was on here that had the start button install? I can't find it for the life of me. I uhh... Have the itch to add a start button and proximity key, paint my front fiberglass, and buy rear fiberglass.

That's promising, thanks! I don't think that's the one I had in mind, but he is using the same kit I was looking at. Or a variation from that company.

You might want to watch this before you install that start button and proximity key.

Gotta say that it’s been awesome and extremely reliable. I did have to put a cut off key in the ignition to override the steering wheel lock though. That was my biggest hesitation but unfortunately there’s no way around it with the way these steering columns are made.

My way of combating anyone being able to steal my truck was to just unplug the whole ignition harness from the key cylinder. I then used male crimp spades on the easy guard system to plug into the ign harness. Also, if the system ever fails, I can quickly yank it and just plug it back in to crank with the key.

If you need any advice, just holler at me. My system is a bastard of that thing, a viper RS/KE and an unlock prox module but I can still likely walk you through whatever you get.

Man that guy turned a 40 second video into a 10 minute movie. JUST GET TO THE POINT! Now I’m annoyed. Silly with how easy it is to intercept radio frequencies though. Regardless if someone wants your vehicle they will probably still get it.

I'll take a look and keep it in mind. I was planning some tricky things to make it harder to take off with.
Awesome. I was noticing you did the viper with the proximity deal and then the easyguard start button. I was thinking about just doing the easyguard start module and proximity. Any reason why I shouldn't do this? I'm not opposed to pieceing it together, but if I don't have to, that's nice too.
I was thinking something like this. I do kinda wish I could add a button somewhere for the lock/unlock like most factory proximity setups though. I'm not all that crazy about walking close to it and having it unlock and lock when I walk away. I could be overthinking it though. I think my reasoning is more like you mentioned in your build. Removing pocket clutter.

@FirstGenVol asking you because I know you still follow the FB Tundra page. Did Geoff Beers ever successfully fit a 9” front into a first gen? He had a post over a year ago now comparing the two / was in pursuit of doing so. I recall he was also trying to get info from Brian at FROR, but Brian was pretty hush hush on his 8” 3rd gen 4Runner success. I’ve messaged Geoff on insta about it but haven’t gotten anything.

I think you might have me confused with someone else. I don't have a facebook account. Anytime I get on that Tundra page I have to use my wife's account. I've only been on there a few times. Sorry!

You could might be able to get something like a Ford 8.8 from an independent rear suspension vehicle to work. Just an idea. I haven't really looked into it much.

I definitely have but I am usually poaching info from other people. I had to track down the dude that makes those door check braces through Instagram.

I think @FrenchToasty might follow that page.

Yeah, I only went that route because the Viper came first. I’ve considered pulling it and going with an all in one system but it would just be re-spending money at this point. Plus, I sold and installed DEI stuff for years and I have tons of confidence in them. The Easy Guard manuals are some of the worst broken Engrish I have seen. Which to me, kind of speaks for the product.

One of my biggest complaints is the prox unlock. Sometimes it gets confused if you throw a lot of commands at it. Let’s say it’s parked out front and I want to grab something out of the bed, it unlocks when I walk by and then usually re-locks by the time I get the tailgate down. Then when I close the tailgate it always sets the shock sensor off. I think I can solve this by moving my antennas closer to the rear window though. I think some of these inconsistencies are why DEI stopped making the prox module.

I feel ya on the button. I wish someone would make us a handle with a button near the thumb similar to what all the new cars have. That way it’s a positive input to unlock. Either that or some kind of stick on resistive pad that I could place inside the door near the handle.

That's about what I've seen with the easyguard instructions. Do you think it would be possible to have the proximity switch activate a relay or circuit that would energize the locks and allow me to use the keyless if I wanted or to not touch it and it stays as it was? Not sure if that makes sense.

Then again I could just not use the unlock/lock feature and try to stuff the proximity deal into a dongle that would work with my factory keyless or another one I guess. That removes the remote start, but still gets me into the vehicle and running without inserting/taking my key off the keysmart type deal.

As far as I know, there is no input/output wire or anything for the prox to tie a relay into. It’s one of those things that’s built into the circuit board. Like the antenna sees the transponder and then the circuit board kicks out the unlock command to the lock relay.

You could probably get creative with a 555 timer and a 451m external lock relay.

Taking a step back, I guess I would need to look at the systems cut sheet. Do the high end Easy Guards unlock with prox? Or is the prox only there for start. If they do, why do they have an unlock button on the key fob?

The last question is exactly what leaves me scratching my head. It almost seems like there's a programming feature or something that would do what I'm looking for. They may have that and everybody is missing it because their instructions suck so badly.

What's wrong with you? Can you not bro, bro? I hear they are working on group buy for 6" front lifts and 3" rear drops as a package deal. Kidding of course. Sounds like the hip place to grab a chai and a tofu dog.

An aside. I asked my wife to get me pork rinds from the store. They are good on salad and that way I get a similar crunch to croutons without the carbs. She accidentally got veggie pork rinds. Why does this exist? I don't care if you don't eat meat, but turning a pork rind into a corn puff just don't make sense to me. It's like me making bacon into a celery shape and calling it pork celery. It would be jerky at that point. Things are things. Some things are not other things. Words don't change that. Rant over!

I'll have you know Morningstar Farms veggie hotdogs are tasty treats for those who don't eat animals....and prepare them properly.
The preparation caveat is incredibly important when it comes to false 'meats'.
Poorly cooked tofu is unparalleled for vileness.
Toss the aforementioned veggie dogs in the nuclear device and walk away? May as well chew on the soles of old Vans. Less rubbery and less disgusting.
Made right, you can get plenty fat on tasty mock-meats.
