Wife paid our contractor some $$$ to get our projects started around the house. Adding 200sf by turning a patio into a family room, and other miscellaneous things around the house that are beyond my skill set. House was built in ‘77 and they never finished the skylight drywall. Just put a wooden frame and some translucent material to filter the light. Also, he’ll be installing a new front door and storm door. Can’t wait for it all to be completed.

Working on this kitchen remodel. Walls aren’t plumb, ceiling droops, and the slab is lumpy. Not to mention the whole kitchen was on a single circuit. This manufactured home was just thrown together.
    Before pic and progress pic.
(Also, their furniture is normally wrapped in plastic, this is just after ceiling texture and clean up)1FD480DE-FF2D-47E6-A1BA-92D1F9286F7E.jpg83391365-2F6B-4E56-B27C-CF005DFFE7C5.jpg

My neighbor walking their dog saw me struggling with it trying to move it on a skateboard and helped me roll it into the backyard. Tomorrow I will weld on the rollers on the tall upright, and lock in my close stop post and make a closing guide for that end as well. 22 60# bags in the curb, 16g 1 1/2” sq mains and 22g corrugated. Thanks hahaha. Cameras are Wyze Cam and this is the new v3. Install all it needs is hardwired micro usb power. Since my soffit is vented to the attic just ran a fish tape up, crawled up in attic and found it. Pulled with a 26ft micro usb cable to an existing outlet by the garage door opener.

Cams, usb extension cable, and mounts all readily available on Amazon. I also put a 32gb micro SD card in the camera so I can set mine up for continuous recording to the card 24/7. The mount isn’t my favorite but works. I may just mount the rest with the base it comes on and with a single screw and washer into the soffit, seems like I will get the same adjustability and will look a little cleaner. I may do that still with the currently installed one, haven’t decided yet

Put lots and lots of wood putty in nail holes in the trim that the half ass carpenter that built my house couldn't be bothered to fill and sand. WTAF.... Later this week I get to sand it all and paint the trim an actual trim color, as they decided spraying every single surface in the house with flat beige would be acceptable...

So my 83 yr old mom needed a walk in shower,(us kids suggested it). She started tearing the wallpaper off in 2017 for a new Reno. From now to then was a major surgerie, dad and dementia, then nursing home then passed away. Another major surgery then a pandemic. Gezzz so I decided to do it so I could save money by not doing a project on my house (project junkie).

Well if you put in a new shower, you might as well pull the wall paper and paint. If you paint you might as well do the ceiling too. Well if you do that you might as well replace the countertop and sink, if you do that you might as well sand stain seal cabinets and bring them back to original. Awe heck new floors. Well If I sand this bathroom I might as well do the other bathroom too.
Keep in mind I was trying to save her as much money as possible for the most bang for the buck.
House was build in 1970, these are the original cabinets, believe it or not they are just ply wood but those cabinets and drawers are really solid and we built.

and yes mom was extremely happy!

Thanks for reminding me. I need to put a new starter capacitor on order. A condenser fan motor might be a good idea as well as I think ours is about 18 years old.

There is a great deal of home improvement I did a year ago including kitchen ledge substitution, cupboard redesign, rooftop substitution, tile establishment, window establishment, and a few small scale makeovers. Every one of the redesigns merits speculation which even expanded the resale worth of my home. Be that as it may, the best thing I could possibly do was to rebuild my outside. My outside region was very straightforward and ugly. In this way, I added some new plants and blossoms, made a little outside kitchen, and figured out how to finish the porch for certain beautifying components. These augmentations amazingly assisted me with improving the control allure of my outside, so I think this was the best thing to specify in the rundown.

Someone will know the answer to this. We moved into our new(to us) house yesterday and when we went to plug in the dryer, we can't. Both the plug and the outlet are 4 prong, but different types. I've been trying to figure out what type I have, but can't get a clear answer. Not sure what I need to buy. I see they make converters but don't see the type I'd use. Also looks like there is some corrosion on my current plug.

    Flux capacitor!
This is a very simple fix. Should only cost you $20 or less to install a new four prong pigtail connection on your dryer. Newer electrical code requires there to be a separate neutral and separate ground thus leading to the four prong plug. You can find multiple videos and articles explaining and showing you how to change your dryer pigtail to the four prong plug to fix this and get your appliance up to the newer electrical code requirements.

Looks like a 3 wire outlet, not 4. I bet that middle hole doesn't have any terminals in it. Get you one of these:

My dryer pigtail is already the more modern 4 prong design. The house was built in 91 so I think it's the outlet that is dated.
I think you're correct. I just looked at the outlet again and that middle hole is just plastic inside. Confusing appearance at first. Looks like I'd just need to pop the cover off the back of the dryer and install the new cord?

I haven’t seen a 4 prong dryer receptacle with one of the prongs being in the center like that before. Are you sure it’s not just a hole for a screw or something?

Regardless, you’ll need to pull that receptacle out and see if there are four wires there. A lot of older houses only have three.

If there are four wires, then just get a new four prong dryer receptacle and swap it out. The one that matches your plug will be a Pass and Seymour # 3864 or equal.

If there are only three wires, you’ll have to swap both the plug and receptacle out to 3 prong devices that match.
Code calls for 4 wire, but most older homes only have three. We had a 3 wire receptacle at our old house, and a 4 wire at our new one. It was just a matter of changing the dryer cord on the unit.

Please don’t use an adapter / converter. It’s asking for trouble.

Yep, that’s your answer. You posted that while I was typing my response. Easy swap out. Most new dryers don’t include the cord for this reason. They don’t know which you have.

Thanks Jason. It seems it's safer to use the 4 prong style but 3 isn't necessarily dangerous? I imagine there are still millions of homes using the 3 prong outlet.

Pretty much any house over 20 years or so old is going to have 3 prong. I’ve never heard of anyone going through the trouble to change it in an older house. I personally had it that way for 20 years in my old house with no issues.

Used to be they combined the common and ground on dryer outlets. Code changed to require the ground to be separated which led to the 4-wire plug. Yes, millions of houses out there have 3-wire without issue… if you were re-wiring or doing a remodel to move or upgrade your laundry room you’d need to run a 4-wire back to the panel, but otherwise just get a 3-prong pigtail and roll with it.

This has been answered, but I’d like to add checking the voltages with a multimeter if you are proficient with one. Just a double check.
