Hey guys, I've had the dreaded tailgate rattle since I've had my truck, but never bothered to do anything about it. I finally got some time and started looking. At first, I thought it was because my hinge bushing was broken, so I made a new bushing with some delrin. Helped slightly, but not completely. So I looked at the rubber stops mounted on the bed, that the tailgate rests on. I found the part number and picked them up today, about 8 bucks for both of them. My tailgate it very tight now when shut, with no rattle whatsoever! And the body lines/panels still line up great.

    Part number 90541-11015

How did you know your tailgate was rattling?

Riding around with the back window rolled down I was able to hear it. Plus I could grab it and move it back forth quite a bit

I hate my rattle and ended up fixing it with my sons choke-up rings that I got off amazing for 6 bucks. Just had to shave a little off and worked like a charm.

Tailgate weatherstripping helps too. That along with my tonneau cover, my tailgate shuts like a car door.
