    My Vette and my wife's Ram have a feature where if you tap the turn signal, the blinkers will flash multiple times. I got into the habit of using this feature and caught myself trying it in the Tundra. Toyota did not deign to give us this feature, but fear not. There's a mod for that!

    Kahtec makes a module that senses the tap and will blink the appropriate signal an additional 6 times. http://www.kahtec.com/lane_changer.htm. You'll actually need 2 of these. I'll explain why in a bit.

    METHOD 1

    The unit has 5 wires. You will use all but one (yellow). The red wire goes to +12v. I chose to tap off the IGN fuse in the under-hood fuse box using an Add-A-Circuit fuse tap. I crimped a lug terminal to the black wire and attached it to the ground bolt on the fender near the battery.

    I mounted the unit to the side of the fuse box, near the battery, using double-sided sticky tape. Be sure and clean the mounting surface with alcohol before attaching. Be sure and clean your insides with alcohol before proceeding.

    Run the short blue wire to the Left turn signal bulb and tap into the red/gray wire coming off the turn signal bulb connector. The short Blue wire is...well...short, so you will need to extend it to reach.

    Run the long blue wire over to the Right turn signal and make the same connection there. I ran it across the top of the radiator support, and tucked it beneath the foam gasket.

    Now the bad news. When the module supplies the additional flashes to your turn signals, the dash indicators do not light. My guess is that Toyota is isolating those indicators with a diode. If you absolutely require feedback in the cab, you can run the yellow wire from the module through the firewall and let it drive an led. I just left it disconnected.

    Similarly, the rear turn signals are isolated from the front. This means you'll need to wire up the second module to your rear turn signals the same way as you did the front.

    Thats pretty much the whole deal.

    METHOD 2

    There is a way to solve the above issues and use only one module. This method involves wiring the module directly up to your turn signal flasher, inside the cab. No direct wiring to your lights is involved.

    Here is a schematic of what works.

    The above schematic allows the feature to work with the dash lights, front and rear turn signals, and the mirror turn signals. Obviously its a bit more involved than method 1, but the reward is factory-like functionality.

    NOTE: regarding the diodes, the white stripe on the diodes go to the module. The end without a stripe goes to the flasher.

    If additional info is required, let me know, and I'll flesh this out a little more.

    As method 2 requires the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, please consider having this mod constructed and installed by a qualified technician, if you are not one yourself. If you fail to introspect your own abilities and fry your Tundra, that's on you, its not my fault, what were you thinking, blah, blah blah.

    Sorry. The diodes are shrink-wrapped in the harness, so I don't think a picture would tell you anything. If it helps, the white line on the diodes go toward the blue wires on the module.

    Mine works fine front and rear, using nothing extra but the kit.Might be different for my 2010:notsure:

    TRD sway bar, matching mirror cover, 20% tint, esp aluminum box, Line-X premium, Undercover Flex tonneau cover, led interior lights, winjet smoked tail lights. Road armor rear bumper w/ road armor shackles, go rhino front bumper.
    I don't know why toyota cheap out on this either since it's pretty standard on most new vehicles. This is an awesome mod but too much for my motor skills :)

    Two relays, two diodes, one module as shown in the schematic above. It does work when wired according to that schematic. Make sure the diodes are installed in the correct direction. Also, you didn't mention what year. Toyota has been known to change wire colors from year to year. Mine is a 2008. Vify the pin numbers are correct regardless of the wire color.

    If you used posi-taps, make sure there is continuity through the connectors. With thin wires its possible for the invasive pin to miss the center of the wire.

    I'm confused by the SPST relay piece. I'm failing to understand how those are wired up to the front turns. What pin of the relay goes where?

    Yeah the relays are required as the module puts out + whereas the flasher requires a ground. The relays effectively invert the signal for you.

    Most relays come with a diagram embossed right on the case. If not, they should have come with a pinout diagram. You need to match those relay pins up to the above schematic. One side of each coil goes to ground. The other side of each coil goes to a blue wire on the module. One of the switching pins on each relay goes to ground. the other switching pin on each relay goes to your truck's flasher module according to the above schematic.

    Ok. So I understand the above now. The last part is the pin 6 and pin 7. Are those just your running lights? I ask because they are the only wires of those colors on my headlights. If not where are they going back too?

    So I think it goes like this after reviewing the attached diagram:

    86 and 30: to blue wire
    87 and 87a : to headlight turn signal wiring ( pink and blue)
    85 : to ground

    I appreciate the help by the way. Sorry to seem needy. Lol.

    I would like to have this MOD on my truck........however, No way in hell I am smart enough to do this. If I wanted this mod done what kind of shop should I look for to do this? What would be your estimated amount of time to complete this mod (labor cost) and what would it take in parts to do this? I am willing to pay someone to do this, just don't want to get ripped off by some smooth talking electronics guy talking volts/relays and all that kind of stuff I know nothing about?

    Pins 6 and 7 are on your flasher module inside the cab. You make no direct connections to your lights at all. In the above mod, 2 methods are described. 1) The 1st method wires directly up to your lights. That is the method illustrated by the images. 2) The 2nd method, involves wiring directly to your flasher module and is illustrated by the schematic.

    You should use one method or the other. It sounds like you are conflating the two. I have added some verbiage to the original post to make that more clear.

    Your diagram is for a SPDT relay. The mod calls for a SPST relay. There is a way to use a SPDT relay, but I'm sure explaining it would just add to your confusion, which I am trying so hard not to do.

    At risk of insult, please seriously consider having this mod installed by your local stereo installation shop. They are sure to have the correct tools and expertise to add this feature without danger of frying your wiring.

    2 SPST relays
    2 1N5408 diodes
    1 module

    I should think any stereo or alarm system installation shop could make quick work of this. It took me about 2 hours to put the harness together and install it.

    I'm not insulted at all. I'll figure it out. If I paid someone there would be very little value added for me personally. True the mod would be done, but there isn't any residual knowledge. Other than remembering I paid for it to be done.

    So I'll order up two of the correct relays and locate the in cab flasher relay.
