Will we see this guy posting a question on airbags vs sumo springs in a day or two? Then a gas 4 sale posting in a couple of weeks?

Thanks for the info! We're supposed to be checking into a rental house in Duck on Saturday. Not driving the Tundra as I have 7 passengers. Getting married while we're there so the little lady is getting a bit anxious. :D

I dont think the issue here is an actual shortage of gasoline. The problem is, and has been for about a year, there is a shortage of fuel truck drivers to actually make deliveries. They are getting paid triple to work right now.

In easy to understand percentages we have at normal BALANCED times: 33% of gasoline is at the terminal waiting to get trucked to the retail store; 33% of gasoline is in the ground tanks at the retailer waiting to to go into the cars & trucks; 33% of gasoline is in the cars & trucks tanks as they run around this earth.

In these affected areas there is now 66% of the gasoline in the tanks of the cars & trucks.

In times like this its rather easy to understand how little we've advanced as a people.

BTW, I just did a 120 mile road trip in central Bamaland and there are NO lines at any of the gas stations I passed. Which was at least 10 of them plus an 80 pump Buc-ee's.

How are these people even allowed to fill gas in storage containers like this .. this is just a disaster ( explosion ) waiting to happen
Isn't these containers suppose to be for water only ?

I guess this is one way to claim home and auto insurance together

It isnt necessarily "how little we've advanced as a people", its Lean Manufacturing principles as well. It doesnt make sense for a company to have a million gallons of gas sitting waiting for the next stage in the process, they want to have an even, steady mfg flow. Yes, this does leave the process vulnerable to hiccups, but the other 99% of the time, it keeps their inventory low and production process steady.

Yet if the idiots blow themselves up, the gas stations that sold them the gas will get sued.

IMO Costco shoppers are the worst with regards to hoarding and panic buying. And it doesn't matter if it is a national issue or not. Anytime I see they have a limit of 1 of a certain item, seems everybody in the store is buying 1, well because they can only buy 1. I am so glad I was born when I was..not sure if I could take a lifetime of this idiocy if I was a teenager right now.

    I simply don’t get it.

Pipeline running from Houston to where (Philadelphia?) suffers a PARTIAL outage and limits flow of re-supply to terminals in Carolinas, Mid/Western Va and Eastern PA and some morons on the west coast fear they will be effected and start hoarding?!?

Guess it’s going on in Ohio too - so just just typical over reaction - and keep in mind the gas only gets to the terminal via pipeline - it gets to your local station via truck…same way they can continue to drive it to effected areas - just not as efficiently.

As with anything - supply chain has a tolerance of 5% +/-, exceed 5% and it either crashes or skyrockets in cost.

Wasn’t it 14 months ago that commodity price of oil was -50+ per barrel (meaning you had to pay people to take delivery of your worthless oil on contract) ? Thought that was a joke - whose laughing now?!? All those folks at big oil who got briefly burned by low demand….they didn’t forget.

Someone posted this on Reddit, I don't understand why the gas station allows this.

Colonial just announced a restart. Will take a few days to get up to speed. Time left to still hoard TP....
