Ok, so I knew from the start when I purchased an open box item that I was going to have to put some work in. I purchased some steps from extreme terrain for my tundra, they only had them avaliable in open box and 1 said it was scratched and dented in several places and the other said missing non-essential hardware. I went for the missing hardware as that would be easy to aquire. Well they showed up and not only are you scratched up as well but they are missing some very Essential hardware. Particularly the brackets that connect the steps to the L brackets under the truck. Here is a picture of the missing pieces on the instructions (6mm double bolt plates) and here is where they go on the steps. Already contacted extreme terrain and the manufacturer, both said good luck. Can anyone help me locate something like this or give me some ideas to make the steps work without them.

    Thank you.

I'd get some steel or aluminum 1.5" wide flat bar stock from Home Depot, and cut pieces to the inner width of that channel.
Then you could either weld some studs onto the bar or just drill holes and use bolts with a lock washer and nuts or nylocs.
Looks like you maybe could get a wrench on top of there when tightening. If not, you may have to weld them.
You could drill holes and then weld the top of the bolts to the bar, which would be easier than welding studs on the bottom.
The brackets look like their slotted so you can adjust the steps in or out a little, so as long as you put the bolts at 2", centered, you should be able to get it all lined up.
This is a much better problem than missing the brackets themselves.

So you just need the flat piece of steel maybe with a bolt welded on? What side of town are you on? We could knock that out in my garage in a few minutes.
