The photo is obviously an extreme case, but a case nonetheless.

I'm willing to bet that picture is from a hurricane, but the point is valid nonetheless. The key is living near people that are self reliant. Our power went out for 2-3 days a while back and I needed some ice. I thought for sure there would be none around. I filled up my truck with pure gasoline and got three bags without a single issue. I now have a generator and I'll be like everyone else haha.

I can't help but think of It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia right now. The Gang Solves The Gas Crisis.

Mac: How are we suppose to scale back our energy costs when you are filling this generator with gasoline?
Dennis: Yeah bro, since when did you start running the bar on a gas generator?
Charlie: About a week ago. I've been doing it for about a week.
Dennis: Why would you do that?!
Charlie: Well because you know electricity is so expensive man. So I figured let's get a generator and you know run the bar on it.
Dennis: Are you kidding me?! Gasoline is like a thousand times more expensive than electricity!

Oh, you mean because a Supercharged 5.7 made the list? That? :burp:

Secret time:gossip: I don't care about superchargers. :notsure: Don't get me wrong, they are neat and I don't begrudge anyone having/getting one, but stock power on a Tundra (any generation) is enough to do anything the truck will reasonably be asked to do.

Oh come one now. A supercharged 5.7 sounds like enough fun that I'd actually put up with that goofy interior. Hell I'd put up with the goofy Chevy interior for a supercharged ls in a truck.

I'm with karma. SCing is for fun time hoon shit. If you can't tow it with a stock 5.7, buy a diesel.

    Double post because I'm excited.
In the last 72 hours, I've ordered the following:

    New head unit
    SPC camber kits
    LCAs
    UCAs
    Shocks all 'round
    Front springs
    Rack bushings
    Diff drop
    U-bolts
    LBJs
Wheels (a bit closer to 96 hours ago)

Ordering brakes today and then all that's left are tires. I'll order them after I get all the chassis bits installed and I've mocked up the new Spreewells.
    #rimzstillspinnin

0913 Edit: Brakes ordered. Once the LCAs & camber bits get here, I can do all the maintenance. Then, I'll do the lift when those bits show up in July. (UCAs are on intergalactic backorder)

One of my neighbors bought one of those brand new. They loved it.
But they were on a road trip through the Dakotas and ran into some wicked bad hail. Turned that beautiful blue body into a golf ball. It was honestly impressive how badly dimpled it was.
They turned it in instead of trying to get it fixed and knowing it'd never be all the way right again.

There are actually reports of people here filling up extra gas cans. I had the wife fill up but she was down to a quarter tank. Most of the gas stations seem to have plenty of fuel though.
Let me know how it drives. My wife likes that body style. Not a fan of that color though. Too Smurf for me.

I never claimed people weren't filling up cans. I was just saying the picture was likely from a hurricane. It's irrelevant either way. I'm sure people are filling up cans. People cans so often here it wouldn't raise any eyebrows.

That's true about that picture-could be old. It will be interesting if this issue goes on much longer than they are claiming. I'm guessing they are just trying to keep people from panicking and hoarding.

BRB-need to go fill up my gas cans... :anonymous:

JIT inventory for the win again. Is anyone talking about building resiliency and building storage on the east coast so "they" can't do this again?
