Looks like that’s what The other guys are using for their version, but stacking two of them together. I’ll have to look into the options that module has and see if that would work better. Thanks!

Looks awesome! How hard was it to seal them back so they don’t leak?

Well… it’s not too bad but I don’t know how mine will hold up long term. I just did about 5 spots of JB Weld plastic bond and then a fat line of black silicone caulk everywhere else. One side seemed to do well but the other shows some moisture when I wash the truck. But I live in AZ so it clears up quick. YMMV in other climates.

I picked up some Icon Expansion Pack leaf springs last week, now just waiting to find some stock shackles and delivery of the Coachbuilder poly bushing kit to get everything installed. I'll be removing the 1" lift shackle at that time.

Also finished up the install of my DIY traction control disabler. It's working great so far and I'm looking into building a few for members that might be interested in buying a pre-built kit. Write-up is here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-automatic-traction-control-disabler.88241/

Great write up on ATCD! Way to give back to the community!

nice find on the expansion packs! Like I said in the other thread, you’re more than welcome to my stock shackles when my Fox’s arrive from AccuTune!

Did some work on the leaf packs that I'm swapping in, cleaning them up a little bit and getting the OEM bushings pressed out. Other than forgetting to get the larger ball joint press cups when I rented the main kit, everything went pretty well. Obviously this is a little different than the normal process, but shouldn't differ much from having the springs on the truck.

    Tools:
    • Ball Joint Press kit (AutoZone rental, part #57023)
    • Master Ball Joint Installer/Remover Adapter Set (AutoZone rental, part #57310)
    • 7/8 socket and ratchet
    • WD40/PB Blaster
I started by spraying both bushings with WD40. I think these leaf springs were still in pretty good shape, as I don't know that I really needed to do this, but certainly didn't hurt.

I used the small cup from the main ball joint kit, but I'd recommend using the middle sized one, to start, as the larger cups are too tall to go between the clamp and spring before pushing the bushing out a bit.

    IMG_1596.jpg
    IMG_1598.jpg
    IMG_1599.jpg

Once you have the bushing pushed down about an inch, back off the clamp and swap in the longer cup:
    IMG_1600.jpg

Since the hard part is breaking the sleeve lose, the rest of the way should be pretty easy.

I’m down sometime soon. I might be able to do this weekend, but I’ve got family flying in and would need to see what plans we already have made for me…

I went out with the family on Saturday for a night run with my lights. The kids fell asleep as we were heading to the Pigeon Trailhead, but woke up when we got there. I missed the sunset...AGAIN.

If we go out this weekend, we have to be on the trail no later than 4pm. I'm a little slower with my fancy-pants 20" rims and stock suspension.

I checked out the Bronze wheels thread (https://www.tundras.com/threads/bronze-wheels-assemble.44109/) and have an idea of what rims I want to get. I just need to justify the cost of getting the rims/tires and a lift...

Man, that looks really good! Very subtle, but very effective and eye pleasing. Tastefully done, I really dig it!

Removed and blacked out the chrome inside the 3rd brake light housing today. I didn’t get any pics of the process, as it was a huge pain in the ass and I was just trying not to break anything on the vehicle. I just taped off the reflector bowls and the black surround, then hit the rest with some Krylon paint and primer made for plastics. It should hold up since nothing should really touch it.

@TRDFerguson - what bed floor tie downs did you use? Are they from a Sprinter?

    I used these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MB985GW/

I think @Jim LE 1301 posted them a while back. They fit well on the bed bolts - I just used a large pipe to support the washer and hit the end of the bolt a few times with a hammer to pop them apart, then sandwiched the tie down between the bolt head and washer.

Picked up a “new” sub/enclosure combo from @e30cabrio yesterday and got it hooked up and installed today. It’s the JBL system sub replacement that @james@tech12volts used to sell (and I think still might?), but it works awesome in my aftermarket setup. It’s a JBL WS1000 set at 2-ohms in a ported box that fits behind the back seat of my CrewMax. Difference between this and my old sub is night and day. While I had the seats out, I added sound deadening to the back wall.

Stop making me buy shit I don't need!!! Lol, that's been on my list for a while, so thanks for facilitating that random transaction...

I did the portion of the floor behind the under-seat foam. Haven't driven the truck enough to know if it really makes a difference, but I had plenty and it certainly didn't hurt anything. Someday I'll pull the carpet and do it all, but that's pretty low on the list. Between the back wall and doors, it should be just fine for what I do.
