This thread is mainly for anyone interested in what a lab result looks like on the first oil change on a 21 CrewMax. I picked up truck in Feb and decided to do my first change at around 1100 miles mainly because I'm bored and need something to do on weekends. Elevated levels of metals seemed to be expected according to lab notes. I only do short trips, roughly four 3 miles trips a day. I usually gas up at Costco and have put some techron fuel cleaner in at about 500 miles and put some seafoam in the crank case about 100 miles before oil change. I don't actually believe any of that is needed or that an oil change this soon was called for but oil changes are like cutting the grass or shoveling snow, kind of therapeutic.

Yeah, way too early to do a UOA and expect to get anything helpful. I wouldn't bother until you've passed at least 10k miles and done at least one other oil change. But if you keep doing them, you'll get to watch the wear metals come down. That could be cool...

Whatever this forum told me to do
    at 1100 miles...

the seafoam is weird and unnecessary.

    techron is weird and unnecessary.

    you are overthinking this shit.

How long did it take to get your results? Sent mine in a couple weeks ago. Also, if you want fuel additives, just buy CVX, XOM, BP, or RDS gas. They all have fuel additives built into their gas

Here in CA., I run nothing but Chevron in all my vehicles and have never had an engine related failure.
    Techron is God here...lol
    No need for additives ever.

I sent it in around late April, I did actually assume the sample was lost because I never got updates on the USPS tracking that was on bottle but ended up getting results this morning.

I get my results in two weeks. It takes about a week for the oil to ship thru USPS (from Seattle) and another week to process.

I sent my most recent sample with 3 day mail from usps, cost me 8 bucks. They ran the sample and got me my results the same day it got delivered. When I sent my sample using the container with label on it last time, it took over a month to get there
