What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Installed my 1000 lumen reverse lights, LED cargo lights, 3rd brake light and, license plate lights. Ordered everything from headlight revolution, no key fob issues so far.

Is there an adverse impact on the back up camera from the reverse brightness or the license plate LEDs?

 

this is one of the best and cheapest mods I’ve done. Makes the backup camera WAY more useable, and actually throws light rearward rather than the factory ones that just show other people you’re in reverse.

 

nope, I was worried that it would project towards the camera or have excessive glare but it doesn’t cause any issues. If you wanted to direct the light towards the plate I’m sure there’s gotta be a little hood you can attach to the housing of the light. Perhaps something 3D printed?

On Tacoma world there is a guy that makes a license plate light delete when in reverse to eliminate any and all glare. I wonder if he could make one for the Tundra?

Vinyl wrapped bumper? which part? the end caps? looks pretty good if so where did you get the wrap?

 

Thanks. Yes, the chrome end caps are what I wrapped. I tried wrapping them twice while on truck, not easy and wasn't happy with results. I wrapped them this time off of truck and separated from bumper. Still not easy but easier to work the vinyl.

I ordered two sections of 3x5 wrap. Metro Restyling has the Avery Dennison in gloss white which is spot on for the 040 Super White Tundras. It will run you about $80 but they are extremely quick on shipping. Got it in two days.

 

I just bought a 2021 Toyota Tundra Limited Nightshade Double Cab on 4/23/21 (I sold my 2008 DC).

I have done the following this week:
Bed cover
Side steps
Inverter install
Laptop Stand
Smoked taillights and bed light (Might get LED upgrade)

Doing next week:
Spray In Bed liner
Front windows tint (20)
Leveling Kit
AJT Design Black out interior stuff

Next Month:
Goodyear AT T/A KO2 Tires

I have gone through only about 30 pages on this thread so I expect I will be doing more as I see your Tundra!

 

FAir enough lol ... This the Tundra right now and I cannot wait to get the leveling and tint done to about finish the outside look.

The laptop stand is off my 2008 that I sold. All other stuff is new.

Welcome to another double cab member. Nice looking truck. I still want to dechrome the front and rear of my SR5.

 

I did that on my 2008 double cab as much as possible. I did have the chrome bumpers which I hated so thus the Nightshade this time lol.

 

What’s crazy is that there’s ONE company (Colonial) whose pipeline controls 45% of the gas for the entire east coast!?!?!
A company mind you that also had one of the worst gas spills (ever) last year in NC. They also had several spills in 90’s.
‘Makes me think this company needs some serious help...or competition!

Around me (GA) the media-fueled-“don’t panic”-panic has now caused ALL the stations to run out.

 

Has anyone replaced their taillights with LEDs? I smoked my taillights and want to replace the bulbs that came with it for stopping.

Suggested brands for a 2021 Limited? Thanks in advance.

Got today my RCI steel skid plate. Took about 5 weeks to fab & deliver and about 20 minutes to install. It is beefy! The stock tin can TRD Offroad skid plate was smashed and torn in icy crusty spring snow recently.

Also got Wet Okole seat covers. First I need to clean the fabric with Tornador, kids make it mildew-prone in a blink of an eye. Don't want a new life growing under the neoprene covers.

Lastly, I gave up on my inconsistent stick welds, hit a trigger on Eastwood MIG-140 and now fabricating a stake holder posts that will serve as a weight distribution base for the Leer camper shell support frame. Need it for the roof rack and RTT. The frame will be mounted inside the shell.
