I hear ya, the cost of these things have skyrocketed and imo only going to keep soaring due to supply/demand.


I just added a bed extender to it yesterday, I have problems.







When not in use it folds perfectly into the grooves of tailgate.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from you. I often refer to your build thread when I’m thinking about a mod, especially when wiring is involved. And many thanks for posting the wiring diagrams. They have been a big help.

 

Wow. Impressive. Why are you planning for two air compressors? Flow rate?

 

Replaced the amber marker/turn light in the tow mirrors with smoked ones.

Removed wasp nests in both mirros while at it

 

Flow rate is one reason cuz who wants to stand around and watch a tire inflate. That’s right up there with watching grass grow and paint dry. We’re getting an offroad travel trailer so there’s those additional tires also. The second reason is redundancy. If one compressor should fail for whatever reason, I’ll have the second that can keep me going.

Thank you sir. I looked at ColorLugs, but I'm looking for all new lugs. I found some on Amazon, just not sure the quality.

I appreciate it. I just need mine to last as long as my current tires. When it's time to get new tires, I'll go with new wheels too.

 

This is why I went color lugs. The quality is often unknown or varies. Most affordable black lugs are just painted and will chip/scratch on initial install let alone after long term use and tire rotations. Not saying you can't get lucky and have a set hold up and last. I just wanted piece of mind so I kept the OEM lugs and have the ColorLugs, on the plus side for me I was even able to get blue which turned out really well.

Did you remove them before you sprayed them or did you spray them in place?

 

With the jack under the truck I would guess the wheels came off the truck, but I've been wrong before.

I just ordered some, so we'll see how it goes. I plan to keep the black. They were silver to match the TSS wheels, but I just hit them with plastic adhesion promoter, SEM Trim Black, and a clear coat. We'll see how it holds up as well. I just had it on hand and wanted to see how it works.

 

I saw your picture and the difference in wheel color. I totally missed the fact that you painted the centers black. They look awesome! Well done

 

@AzureNightmare called it. I took them off. Dip Your Car has an instructional video with them still on the truck, but it was pretty windy when I did it, so it was blowing my masking and I didn't want to risk over spray on the truck. Honestly though, I would advise taking them off (if you have the ability) anyways. I found it easier to be able to walk around the tire and get a good coat on all faces of the wheel.

 

I admire you attention to detail you take on your rig, so I appreciate the compliments.

 

Added a Truxedo tailgate seal, Rok Block gap cover and christened the topper with a Toytec sticker I've been saving.
