Put the CVT RTT on for the Summer

 

Installed an el cheapo Tyger brand soft tonneau cover to get me by till RLD Design canopies are more plentiful. WaterPORT even clears it.

 

Wheel and tire day!!! ICON Rebound titanium wrapped in 305/70 17 Cooper XLT.

 

Haven't touched the truck much, started to get antsy. Decided to tint my fogs and do the anytime fog mod. Also finally decided to piece together my makeshift TRD intake

 

Where did you get your lug nuts from?

 

Put my new registration sticker on, cleaned the interior (wiped everything down, cleaned windows, washed floor mats, vacuumed), put new black plastic valve stem caps on to replace my old random grey plastic ones. Also removed the TufSkinz insert on the center console. I liked it a lot at first to put my phone in as the cubby is about the perfect size, and the foam stopped it from rattling, but after I got my Pro Clip mount I never used the spot, and the ridges in the foam just collected crap.


Also put the Eagle Klaw floormat clips in my front passenger mat. Works ok for what it is, just seems like the OEM mats are too thin, and the carpet doesn't sit perfectly flat in the floor pan so it has gaps below. I don't think the mat & carpet is thick enough to support the length of the backer, so the whole thing still kind of floats around. I broke one 'klaw', where I think it bottomed out against the pan and shattered it, the second time I just pushed it through the carpet by hand and seemed to work better. I think it'll fix the mat from moving around, but it's not perfect by any means.

 

Tha is for the clarification. I'm interested to see how it holds up.

 

Decided to give the Plasti Dip a try on the wheels. Got a kit from Dip Your Car in the color of "Brass Monkey". It's a darker, bronze-ish, brown-ish color. Definitely darker than the picture shows. Need to get some black lug nuts on the way as well.

Installed blackout badges and began AMP Power step install. Steps are in but not powered yet. Love the look of the new badges and left the SR5 off for now.

 

Looks awesome! I like that Brass Monkey kit and have been debating it on my TSS wheels.
Check out ColorLugs for some lug nut covers. They work well and are affordable

 

thanks I guess we will see, have read good and bad. I will get over it if it fails. atleast the surround piece will be starting out white so probably won't be an issue

Got my dual subs (10" JL Audio) and 5 channel amp from @tech12volts today. Was thinking of installing it on Monday, but then saw how much shit there was and said F this.....as I would surely F it up.


Gonna drive the 4 hours south and have James do it in a week or 2.

When they did the restock on Thursday. I missed it. I was really shocked to see those available on Friday night when I checked.

 

Installed my driver side grab handle, black tail gate inlays and AJT black steering wheel emblem. Gonna do the rest of the dash when the climate knobs arrive

 

Removed the ecological caps and had the chrome Powdercoated. Installed a set of amber squadron pros and trying to decide the position I want the lp9s.

 

I like the wider look of the light position.

Finally finished up my drawer system this weekend. Working on staining it now.

 

Been working on the onboard air system. Finished running the under bed air lines to the tank and installed the manifold, water filters, and tire inflation valves. Also relocated the air tank pressure release valve and drain cock to a spot on the passenger side rear fender for easy access.

The manifold is mounted to the front edge of the bed using an existing threaded hole. Turns out I was able to reuse the stock bolts that were removed from the center console when the security insert was installed. The leftover bolts fit perfectly and saved me a trip to the hardware store.

There will be two air compressors once the complete system is installed thus the need for two water filters. The filters did not come with any type of mounting hardware so I used 1.5” stainless steel rubber insulated clamps (

I didn’t want the hassle of having to crawl under the truck to drain the water filters or decompress the tank each time it was needed. Instead, the pressure release valve and drain cock were mounted on the fender just forward of the passenger side rear wheel. All fittings are 1/4” NPT.

An existing hole in the fender was used to mount the brackets. The brackets are leftover parts from another install. There was enough room between the fender and wheel well liner to get the bolt in place without having to remove any clips. Bulkhead unions (

The drain lines from the two water filters are connected using a “T” fitting and run out to the drain cock located on the fender. Because this line goes outside the frame and near the tire, it is more prone to being damaged, or worse, ripped off. If such a thing were to happen, closing the ball valves will allow the tank to hold pressure and the air system to continue working. Another drain cock is on the tank itself if needed to remove water.



For tire inflation, two Schrader valves were mounted to the outside of the frame at the passenger and driver wheel well areas. See post #56897 for the contraption (don’t know what to call it) that is used to connect to the Schrader valve for dual tire inflation. If anyone has had an older Jeep, you may recognized the brackets used for the Schrader valves. They are the side mirror mounting brackets from a CJ and worked out great.

Installed the dual power outlet plate from @Chelly. Worked out perfect, and added a dual Blue Sea USB port alongside the regular 12v power outlet. Worked out perfect using some Posi-Taps into existing wires since I have the console wireless charger.
