And there were warning signs from the beginning. First time I saw it he told me it was running strange. Then the low oil pressure light. I just told him I would sell it immediately. I find it suspicious that the random shop he found happens to have that an engine for that same car just sitting around. They aren't offering him any warranty either.

Sounds to me like it's time for an LS swap.

Wow, no kidding. He'll probably end up with a old tired Honda Civic motor in there.
I wonder how this is going to turn out, is he stranded waiting on the engine swap?

He lives out of his car and was driving from TN to CO when the engine blew-not sure what state he's in. He's definitely stranded. They happened to have that same car there so I know it's the same engine. The last picture I saw his old engine was out and the new one was being installed. I really wouldn't want to trust that some random po-dunk shop is going to have a reliable engine. I wouldn't have ever bought an old Volvo either. He wanted a used Toyota but said they were too expensive. Now he's got almost 9k in this heap of shit and could have found a used Rav4 or Sequoia from the beginning.

Since we're doing this can we ditch the Volvo and stick the LS in an Argosy or GM motorhome?

I know two people with these. Front wheel drive with the tag axle, interesting. Nicknamed "Beavers" I think?

You should still check your headlights. They are probably in a window somewhere blinding passing cars.

Speaking of heaps of shit. @Tundra2 story time.

Guy I know wanted to get a Yukon XL Denali for his wife. Just so happens a "buddy" with a used car lot has one for sale. They buy it, get a check engine light on the way home. Long story short, over the next 6 months he buys a new 6.2L engine, transmission and a few other little things from a GM stealer. He now has around $40k into a 08 Yukon with 200k miles.

As I have begun piling up parts for my Tundra overhaul, it occurred to me today that once completed, I will have removed the majority of my reasons to not pack up the truck, quit the world, and drive it up a mountain and hermit like a forking sir.

Ninja edit: Yes, I verbed 'hermit'.

Just wait until the internet sat stuff gets going so we can watch your beard grow down to your knees.
Something like "day 739, I've begun to tuck it under my belt. I fell a tree to practice my widling and I now have a nice shoehorn and wooden megaphone to show for my efforts."

You have to pull the whole airbag out. It’s bolted behind the glove box

Family wagon indeed. They were in town cruising about 25 and got side swiped by ole hoe.

Deer would not be suffering if I weren't at work.

Are tundra and sequioa doors the same on 2nd gen? @empty_lord?

I may try to replace both door and fender if I can find some at pick'n'pull.
