Hey all! New to this whole aftermarket tire thing, and I've done quite a bit of research here on this sight as well on google and getting some mixed "advice" if you will. I know I'll probably get some sh*t for this post because there are already so many post about this topic, but here we go...

I bought a DC tundra with these American Racing rims on it with 295/70/17 coopers on there (photo below). These tires rub bad, especially when turning left and it annoys the hell out of me. I feel like a 285 wont really do anything as it will only provide about a 1/4 inch more of space. Will a 275/70/17 work or will it be too small for the rim? Please let me know and thank you in advance for you help. Also if there are other recommendations from a veteran in this topic please do not be afraid to share your wisdom with me. Cheers and happy trails!

The answer depends on if (and how much) you are lifted, where you are rubbing, how wide your wheels are, and what the backspacing of your wheels is.

Generally a 285/70/17 works okay if you have 2" of lift but may require a bit of trimming depending on wheel. If you want to say goodbye to rubbing you can go the pizza cutter route with 255s but only if your wheels are 8" wide or less.

Hello, new to the forum. I have an 06 Toyota Tundra Limited, and was looking to upgrade rims, tires and get a 2” leveling kit. Which tires and brand look best on that kind of setup? I’m assuming 275/70/17 for the tires? Thanks in advance for any help.

Surely with a 2” leveling kit installed, I would be able to do 275/70/17’s.
