Anything you've done to the truck that you regret? Or maybe one that got away?

I was too lazy to air down in the sand outside of San Felipe on the beach, I figured I have 600hp and could brute force through the sand and airing up and down is a pain so just yeet that skeet. By the time I saw the transmission gauge moving it was too late, she was fried. Not taking 5 minutes to air down because POWAAAAHHH cost me $7000  I do regret that.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it referred to regrets over buying a Tundra. My first thought was, "shortest thread ever!"

Not spending the extra for dual climate.
I don't actually care about the dual zone.
The digital read-out with the ability to set and maintain a specific temp is a feature I care about more than I originally thought.

I do wish I had gotten one of the wheel packages with black wheels. They just look so much better on SSM Tundras!

The soft tonneau cover, its good quality and will probably last a good while. Just wished I would have waited and saved up for a hard cover. I may see if I can sell it.

As others have mentioned, not getting one sooner! Absolutely love my Tundra and will be going on its first "big" roadtrip from MD to TN this week. My Tundra is literally the exact opposite of my M4 haha probably why I appreciate both vehicles even more now

I had a "One that got away" A 16 Pro at a SR5 price at a Lincoln dealership. I called them and talked them down a little more. We were going over my trade in before I drove the hour and half to do the deal, when the manager ran the vin on the Pro. Came back and said they would only sell it for the original price and lowered the offer on my trade in. I turned it down and they had jacked the price up on their website within a hour.

That's why I got the dealer to email me a signed sales quote before I ever left the house to go to the dealership. That is a legally binding document, or close enough that it would cause issues if they tried to back out.

Buying a 2019 vs 2020. I wish I had keyless entry. It’s annoying. Our 4Runner (and it’s a 2014) has it and it’s wicked convenient when your hands are full.

Yeah never got to that point with the deal before they figured out they had underpriced it. It worked out since I found my 17 later. I did get everything in writing before making the drive for it.

Running smaller than stock diameter tires was not the best thing I ever did, but that only lasted about 4000 miles. Other than that, I have no regrets about either of my Tundra trucks.

I nearly cut the carpet and foam substrate from under my back seat, per the steps shown in the DIY under seat storage thread on here. At the last minute, I decided to measure the space under the seat and found it's shaped a lot differently than the crewmax back seat area, and I have plenty of of room for storage without cutting up the floor of the truck. I would have really regretted going off half-cocked and doing that without measuring first.

Other than that, probably my suspension. For the same amount I spent, I wish I'd have just gone with the 6112/5160 combo, and bought SPC UCAs at the time. I don't think the Radflos were worth the extra $

Buying a truck with TSS (20" wheels, rubber floor mats, side steps.) It's a $5k option. I should have found a bone stock SR5 with only the "SR5 upgrade" package (ie console shifter, 38gal tank.)

Was between buying two sets of side-steps and went with a set that I ultimately just didn’t like the look of because they were a little bit cheaper. Hung down too far and made it look like an old-man truck(no offense old men). Ended up buying the other kind anyway. Now I have an extra set in my garage.

Mine are all mod related and from these trial and errors:
    1) Having a semi-sketch guy install a wrap on all of my chrome as a temporary measure at that time for $400. First thing I did and I regret it.
    2) Bought aftermarket side markers for my tow mirrors on Amazon. Quality of LEDs and plastic degrade over time. Should've just bought Boost Auto markers sooner. I just didn't want their smoked version and I don't like their chromed version but it was the better option regardless of the higher price.
    3) I had to buy aftermarket tow mirror glass because I broke the original when having to replace the side markers. Glass came bowed and causes a carnival of mirrors illusion. Annoying. I just haven't had the time to contact Boost Auto on that one to see if their glass meets my requirements.
    4) So I had the low profile window deflectors, and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I talk with a fellow member who had issues with theirs and I touted mine were fine, mine started to lose stickiness to the door in certain areas. Might've been the way I installed them but I took them off regardless. Also found out that it may have slightly damaged my paint.
    5) I regret not putting PPF before installing my fender flares. At some point, I need to figure out what the cost is to have the paint redone. I don't imagine it to be cheap.
    6) Minor thing but I regret buying an LED from VLEDS for my footwell lighting when I turned around and bought footwell strips for all seats.
    7) Not completely impressed with their TRITON backup LED lights but that could just be my expectations out of them.

I bought a black one, in Arizona, with plans to use as my work truck in construction. It's only a mild regret though because I love the blacked out look. I only second guess it when I'm religiously cleaning it to keep it looking semi clean and keep the paint as protected as I can.

Not buying one sooner. I bought a 2021 TRD Pro with everything I wanted and smile every time I drive the dam thing. Black wasn't my first choice in color since they are hard to keep clean, but the truck kind of found me and it seemed to be fate.

180k miles, cost of ownership (excluding brake pads on the regular, oil change every 3weeks to a month, tranny drain and fill every 3 months(regardless of miles driven),and power steering partial fluid change when I change the oil, serpentine from factory took me to 148k miles, and plugs at 160,oil control valve bank 1 @ 152k and just within a few days ago a new complete drive shaft, which was my fault)almost nothing imo. Every single person I know with a truck, in the beginning 10 years ago they told me I made a mistake, I look at them now and say my only mistake or regret is not buying one sooner. With that said, this is a minor regret, I do wish I had gotten the console shift and the 6-speed transmission instead of shift on the column and the five speed. And remember, I have the 4.0 v6. I don't get on much so I thought I'd post a couple of pics it's not much but it's mine. That little oil spot in the front is from the little bit of fluid that came out of the transmission when I pulled the drive shaft.
