I must be the minority, but the stock badges on the door looks good to me blacked out. At least the Tundra one...

I see no point in having the make, model, 4x4, etc, plastered all over the doors, side, tailgate and door pillars.

For some reason, truck makers put labels and badges all over a $50k+ truck to make it a driving advertisment for them.

I've had previous vehicles start rusting under badges and didn't want that to happen with this one. There is a crazy amount of 3m tape under some of these badges, making it a breeding ground for rust.

Way easier to clean and polish/wax with no badges too.

    All of mine came off.

My tundra only has a tundra badge on the door. I live on the east coast of Canada and have a 30 year old Silverado and daily drive my 16 year old Tacoma and never had a speck of rust near my badges. I would think you’d need a paint chip to start rust on a flat panel mid way up.

it’s all personal preference, I think the simple tundra door badge looks nice, not adding a bunch of Amazon badges like some people do, but again, personal preference

It was a Mazda Protege5 that rusted Under the rear badge. At the time, every other one on the road had rust in the same spot. Likely some sort of design fault on Mazda's part, definitely not paint chip.

What's nice is, the Tundra badge can be left, removed, overlayed, replaced, stickered and makes them all individual and our own.

What does that have to do with debadging?

But please research and look around first. You have 5 posts and 4 threads started.

    All the info is there.

I think I would be worried that it would somehow be messed up underneath, or take the paint off with it, or something like that.

I'd be more worried about the badges falling off in a few years, paint discoloration and gunk buildup underneath.

The amount of moisture under the badges, especially the V8 badge, helped reaffirm my decision to take them off. And that was after they had been baking for 2 days in 75-80 degree sun.

Just bought my new truck on Friday. I'll be de-badging the iforce badge this weekend for sure and changing the rear decal.

so I debadged my MGM 2015, and there is ghosting (which I can't do anything about)...but there's also a good amount of VERY HARD adhesive on the very outer edge where the badges used to be. I can scrape it off, but it takes a ton of effort and i'm worried i'm going to damage the clear coat. I've tried alcohol, goo b gone...nothing helps. the 3M adhesive removal wheel also does nothing for this stuff.

    Any ideas?

It looks like debris buildup around the edge of the badge.

I'd try laying a microfiber soaked in hot water on it, to try and loosen it up.

I have the same problem and still need to work on it. Someone suggested rubbing compound in another thread, so I’ll be trying Turtle Wax rubbing compound here shortly.
