The last house that I owned was on a long stretch of highway and about once a year I would have to replaced the box and pole. It was either taken out by vandals would beat the crap out of it with a bat or drunks that lost control and drove over it. Never could understand why the neighbours mailbox right across the highway from mine never had to be replaced.

I heard from a guy named "Skeeter" that the new high trim level is gonna be "antidisestablishmentarian" *. Fits a little easier on the front door emblem than supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

    * means:

This guy David Chao has good info about the new Tundra/Sequoia. New 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Spy Shots, Rumors & Leaks: What It All Means for the Next Tundra! - YouTube

WHAT CAN WE LEARN ABOUT 2022 TOYOTA TUNDRA FROM 2022 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 300? Turns out a lot! - YouTube

There's also another TFL video with Chao that has some more info.

TTV6 is base (only) engine, 10spd auto. Mild hybrid next year. An interesting thing is Chao expects the new Sequoia will be comparable to the Land Cruiser since the LC will not be available in North America.

So for jumbo SUV's he expects the LX TTV6 will be the $80k trim and the Sequoia will be the $60k trim. But the new Sequoia will have offroad capability like the 2021 Land Cruiser.

I'd probably have to figure out another way to frankenstein the thing to keep it running. It looks like an oversized Honda Ridgeline

Go figure, I wait forever to make the switch to the Tundra and the darn things aren't really available. Any accurate info on the release date?

I am trying something I have not done in a very long time. Every 3 years I would get a new truck. My plan is to keep my 2020 for 10 years. This is the first truck I have done modifications on, and my goal is to make it my ideal truck and be happy with it.

Making this post publicly is like announcing I’m on a diet to coworkers.

The rule or law comes from department of transportation rules. Every road has a clear zone, which is essentially a correction zone, where if you accidentally go off the road it gives you room to correct your course and get back on the road. This clear zone (CZ) is a function of the speed limit; in theory the faster you go, the more room you need to correct your course. Every state is different, but here in Florida for instance on a 45MPH road the clear zone is 18 feet. That means that there is not allowed to be anything permanent in the 18 feet from the edge of the traveled way. Any street signs, street lights etc. in the clear zone has to have breakaway bolts at the bottom. (That's why it is so easy to run over a hydrant in the movies and it breaks off and water sprays everywhere; it's the breakaway bolts that break, not the hydrant itself)
So, technically the brick mailboxes are not legal.

All the speculation about the 2022...perhaps it hasn’t been fully revealed because they don’t have the components to build it yet. Look at the supply shortages just keeping up with production of the current model

My vote would be to call the new, higher trim the "Floccinaucinihilipilification". Which means to apply the value of something as actually worthless.

I’d love to get one but hopefully my 2008 stays strong and won’t need a new truck for many years.

so maybe I’ll buy a used 4th gen in 10 yrs

With all the chip supply shortages, is there really going to be a 2022?

i highly doubt there will be a locker. If we are lucky they won’t change the 10.5 so that existing lockers will work

When are we suppose to get this new damn truck?

The F150s 7Kw built in generator is sounding nicer and nicer by the day.

The only confirmed release info is we get a big 12 inch touch screen that nobody wants

Not a chance your buying a Ford.

There has been shortages in material because of covid and I suspect its delaying the date. The latest rumour is that there is going to be an shortage of rubber. With the increase in the cost of almost everything now it's going to be interesting what the truck's going to cost.

Since Q4 2021 was the rumor well over a year ago I don't know why everyone is getting so antsy. Right now is the absolute worst time to be buying a new truck, there's just no supply.

The delays in launching from the usual February are most likely going to help Toyota, 8+ months between launch and on sale date is far too long.

Oh I'd never buy a ford just because of the lack of quality alone.

But I sure hope the 2022 Tundra has a nice built in generator option like the ford does.

I'm hoping that's the case as well. I do a fair amount of boondocking and it would be nice not to have to haul a generator around.

If you do go the Ford route it definitely would be more lucrative for you from a tuning aspect. Hell of alot more F150s out there.
