What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Been thinking about either doing this red plasti-dip on the doors or get a custom carbon fiber piece made. Looks really good!! Did you remove the piece from the door panel or just tape it off?

 

Got the windows tinted yesterday. $100 for ceramic.

I had a ~370 round trip with the Tundra this weekend and still had a 1/4 tank of gas when I got home this afternoon. I think I am liking that 38 gallon fuel tank and range of the Tundra. Tundra took 24.243 gallons of gas at fill up giving me 15.26 miles/gallon. Not bad at all considering I spent the entire highway ride in the left lane (with Waze Running shotgun) at 70+ mph!

I’m about 75% done with installing an onboard air system. The kit came with a regulator, gauge, and a few fittings that I’m not going to use on the truck. Decided to use those extra parts to make a contraption that can deflate or inflate two tires simultaneously. Tested this new contraption on a Tundra cleverly disguised as a Jeep. The drain cock is used to air down the tires. When inflating, the regulator can be adjusted to ensure pressure never exceeds the tire’s maximum (in case I’m not paying attention ). Polyurethane air line is used for its flexibility. The whole thing packs down to about a 9”x9” bundle for easy storage.

 

Finally finished up my window roll up project on the Tundra today. Now when I use my remote start remote to lock the doors, any window( or sunroof) that’s not closed will shut. I can also open the front windows and sunroof from the remote using the trunk release output. I had my old Tacoma set up like this and I’m glad to have it set up like this on the Tundra!

Did you remove the bed rails or cut around them?

When I installed my Bedrug I took off the side bed rails and installed them over the Bedrug. The front I just left them under the rails because there was not enough of the Bedrug for me to grab cause it was right on the edge. I also installed mine over my sprayed in LineX.

I like the Red door handles that you did...just plasti-dip or did you do a full paint on them?

 

Got that Pro grille installed today, with the Amazon garnish plate. “So far so good” I drove around the city for a couple of hours with no sensor error yet. Hopefully it’ll stay that way *crossing finger*

 

I trimmed a little but bolted the bed rails over them. There is some play and I can now see why they wanted them trimmed down. I might do it later, but I don't put fridges or four-wheelers in the back so I should be just fine.

 

I was thinking about buying bolts 1/4" longer and putting the rails right over the Bedrug.

 

First oil change since installing the RCI skid. Between that and the fumoto valve my list of tools for an oil change is down to a 5mm hex key and a 3/8” ratchet with extension.

 

Using my remote start system. I used the ground out when armed wire to trigger two au-93 omega windo roll up modules. I used two 528 T pulse timer relays ( by directed electronics) to extend a negative pulse to the factory arm/ disarm wire. A 10 second negative pulse on each of those wires will roll down windows and open sunroof. The other wire will roll them up and close sunroof. My truck is a 2015 crewmax limited. The SR5 will not have the option for the front windows/ sunroof. If you can put your key in the driver door and turn to unlock and hold for 10 seconds the windows will come down and sunroof open.

 

I used the negative output when armed ( from my remote start system)to trigger two AU-93 Omega two window roll up modules. One for the rear windows and one for the rear window. The front windows are rolled up and down by using a extended negative pulse on the factory arm/ disarm wire using a 528 T pulse timer relay ( by Directed electronics) this also closes and opens the sunroof. If I am correct the crewmax limited and up have the front window close open option. Put your key in drivers door, turn to unlock and if your windows roll down and sunroof comes open you have that option on your truck.
