A local woodworker can build you what you need. Get the wood from your county. You have great hardwood there. Just about any wood from out west will be weak. That bed you posted is a good example. Your fingernail will dent that. If you can get it in your room without tearing it down tell them you want to the whole thing mortised and tenoned. It will be the last bed you ever need but it will be more money than china. Buy once.

Yes. We have some Flowers we call ‘Tays in de Wind’ (Trees in the Wind) planted next to our home. The Monarchs come in for a brief few days on their way up North to suck to life out of some of their Flowers. Its wurrldd peas excellence.

You can also build a pipe bed...mine would probably be a canopy bed to support a person’s body weight when hanging from above.

Yeah, they will run through half of my dill bed in a day if I’m not paying attention.

We all know how rare that cold snap was though. I’ve never seen snow like that in my life.

The bad news is that it killed off a lot of my established plants that I’ve been working on for years. The really bad news is that I think it got my Ash tree in the front yard. Here we are in May and it has no signs of sprouting leaves.

I will have to pay more attention this year. They go crazy in the fall around here but I don't recall seeing them on the dill. In the fall I will have hundreds of them.

Did you have much fruit tree die off? We always fight the late frosts but the trees always come through it fine. We just don't get any fruit. Last year we had a frost that was over a month after our average last frost date.

I think you are right. That tree may be toast. It may come back from the root system. Was it grafted or is it true? Either way that sucks. If it will come back from the roots it may give you a huge head start over replacing something else. We get wild bradford pears around here. They grow 2 inch thorns are are a huge problem. I started cutting them down and grafting on fruiting stock. The growth you get from an established root system is pretty impressive.

    What's your backup plan?

Hi all, I asked Mcgeorge to help me pick out all the parts I'd need for a timing belt change along with a water pump and power steering pump. I'm feeling a little intimidated with the amount of parts on the list. I don't know where half these gaskets and whatnot go... I see valve cover gaskets on this list, why would there be valve cover gaskets involved in a timing belt change?... Are they just giving me a complete rundown of everything I should consider doing?(I've emailed asking them)

@Professional Hand Model, I saw you changed your fan clutch as well during your timing belt change... this something we should be changing while we're in there as well or was yours bad?.. failing...?

I have a good amount of homework to do on all the work before I start but hoping for your input on this list... Any changes, any better parts you reco, etc? I did see Koyo Bearings on PHM build page, what is that for?...
    IMG_5412.jpg

I did order the Green Belt. Not really sure which belt this takes the place of from the list above...
Gates K060908HD FleetRunner Micro-V Serpentine Drive Belt

    As always, appreciate you all!

Yeah, took me about 6 hours acquiring all the proper parts list etc. Takes work! I posted my complete list somewhere (not on build page) for everyone last year. No longer have the pic.

I read about the Fan Bracket pretty extensively and most reviewers reported theirs were grindy feeling once they had it off the truck. I can confirm this. What really made me replace it was a cold start cold morning chirp for 30 seconds reported by another reviewer which I had. Glad I did! Sucks that it cost about $110 iirc, but its gotta come off and you will regret not having it.

Do as much as you can when that front part of the engine is wide open as its so easy to access/work. Once you button things up and have to go back its agony! Do it right once and be done.

The Gates replaces this, but double check first!

Valve cover gaskets are easy to check and see if you need to replace them. I think the camshaft and crank seals are for the valve cover gasket job. The valve covers can be done independent of the timing belt and you're not really in that area.

Rock auto has a full kit made by Aisin which is the OEM supplier and it's much cheaper.

No need for overhead body strap rack. I figure that would half my cost.

I've dated all kinds. They all seem to really enjoy that 6'2 pawerstroke when the O is present.

Pawerstroke 6.2 seems to be the undoing of my beds. Pillow for headboard silencer. Saves drywall too sometimes.

Not sure of the year/model differences, but the VC Job looks independent of the Timing Belt/Cam/Crank Seals for 2002 (non VVti).

But they aren’t on the truck....doesn’t count but that’s gonna look good. I almost think the cement gray in place of the red would be better. Or white. Or maybe the red will look ok

Fruit trees wouldn’t survive our climate. Just a few years ago we had 100+ days over 100deg. I’m in the sweet spot of Texas where it’s always hot as balls, it sometimes freezes, and the only weather we get is severe.

It’s probably a 10 yr old tree that if I had to guess, was not grafted. It has a few sprouts down at the base but I think she’s a goner.

Never seen a Bradford pear but Mesquite grows wild out here. Same deal, 2”+ thorns all over and the only thing that they’re good for is their smoke.

Thats the little hungry bastard. They sure do make good catfish bait.
