I agree,,,, maybe if no turbo v6 hybrid w/ 2wd. But if they do offer a v6 tt hybrid w/ ford hp/tq #s and 30mpg I don't care what it looks like I'm getting it

Definitely won't happen. If it was the identical engine to the LS (I would imagine it'll be slightly different), it would be a 32 mpg hwy engine (in the car) lugging around 1,500lbs more, with different gearing and brutally bad aerodynamics.

I'll be floored if the hwy mpg in the tundra exceeds 23. Tops in horsepower, maybe 415. I would guess more like 403hp, and 420 torque.

Yeah I figure they would on a debut model year. But you never know when they decide to re-align all the model names (Trail, PRO, SPORT). Didn't they drop the Pro for a model year or something a while back? I can't remember. Not enough coffee yet to bump start my brain this am.

2018 didn’t have any Pros. It’s the year they added all the TSS stuff.

The cool thing about it being a TTV6 is if they wanted to they could easily drop a different tune and/or add more boost in the Pro's to make more power just like ford does with their 3.5 for the regular f150 and the raptor. It'd be great if there was actually something that set the Pro's apart from other trims. Hell you can buy a sr5, add katskinz with heat and cool, lift it with better suspension than the pro, and put wheels and tires on it for less than the price difference between the 2 models.
The only thing is we're dealing with Toyota and I fully don't expect it to happen UNLESS the rumors of them "being done messing around" in the truck market are true. Making the pro's a competitor with the raptors would show that message, but one engine option, as far as we know, doesn't. Sure it'll have a hybrid option but that doesn't make up for the v8 loyalist that will move away when they want a new truck. Lack of a diesel option may hurt them as well with the big 3 having mini diesels.

I have noticed though the long box test mule has 3" exhaust while the short box has 2.5". My hopeful brain says maybe they're bringing the 3.3 diesel from the lc300 leaks. My rational brain says they're test mules and they're just testing different sized pipes for performance.

If they do in fact change up tunes and go with longer travel suspension like the Raptor then it won't happen in 2022. I see the Pro continuing to compete with the Rebel, AT4, and Tremor which means no different engine. Now a couple years down the road I could see then adding another trim that does change the entire suspension and a different motor, but then again the Tacoma is their off road specialty and the Tundra is more for being able to go offroad.

What Year is this graph even from.....it has Pontiac, mercury, Saturn, Saab........I know everyone on here like to bash ford but we also have to keep in mind they dominate the truck market. So they must do something right. While I don't have experience with one, my friend has a 2017 raptor and has not had one issue with it.... has about 50k miles on it.

That truck does look BadA$$ no doubt. Absolutely love black trucks. Would hate to own one though, especially in South Texas.

What he said. How often can you get a well optioned truck from any other manufacturer for $25k ($30k CAD), which is what my father in law paid for his EcoBoost XLT? Some people only care about up front purchase cost.

Ive got a black truck now and it's worth it. Once you get over it being dirty, it still is as good as it gets.

I agree, the Pro lineup desperately needs more than a set of shocks and luxuries to better set it apart from the other trims. A performance engine tune is a great idea.

If Toyota lined up with the other manufacturer offerings I'd think the TRD Offroad would be the Rebel/AT4/Trail Boss/Tremor equivalent. Even though the others have seemingly 15 different trims the sr5, Limited, and Platinums are really and truly plenty. If they wanted to play the trim numbers game keep the TRD sport and the 1794 as a top of the line like the High Country and Denali.

I mean, for me, my '13 F150 was originally $43K. When they discount a truck **$16,000** it's bound to attract buyers.

In all honesty/seriousness, no, they're not 'trash'; and yes, Toyotas have their issues. But with that said, I've owned 3 Toyotas, total. Here's the exhaustive list of stuff I've replaced (not had to replace) on all of them:

    - light bulb
    - damper solenoid

I've also owned 3 Ford trucks. Here's a non-exhaustive list of just the stuff I've *had* to replace (e.g., caused issues, made a huge mess, or wouldn't operate without):

    - valve body
    - valve cover/valve cover gasket
    - e-brake cable
    - shocks (leaking at like 40K)
    - entire media system
    - rear door latch parts multiple times - did not resolve the issue
    - tailgate parts (could not close or latch tailgate)
    - seat parts (TSB)
    - wheel nuts (crushed during routine tire rotation)
    - turbocharger
    - starter (multiple times)
    - alternator
    - camshaft position sensor

This is just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head; there's more. This doesn't count the few things that went wrong on the Fusion we owned, and the EXHAUSTIVE list on the disaster that was our 1997 Ford Taurus. THAT car sucked balls.

For a while you ordered a F250 Tremor because the Tundra specs were not good enough, now you have a Raptor - 1400 lbs payload spec and 8200 lb towing spec. For what Raptor's are designed for they're damn good (although I knew multiple oilfield consultants who drive off road a lot who traded in their Raptors on TRD Pros) but they're not any good at 'truck stuff'.

Black vehicles’ saving grace is they look great dirty.

My old 4Runner was black. I was not very motivated to keep it super clean because it was nearly impossible and it looked great dirty.

Before the Tremor it was a Powerboost F150. I think he’s just itching for a change and hates the NA V8 at altitude.

I bet that Raptor is a really fun truck to drive. I’m just really happy where I am with no headaches.

Need soft suspension to handle the bumps. Want a real crazy payload/towing numbers go look up a Power Wagon which is based on a 3/4 ton truck. Off road abilities and carrying weight do not work together.

If someone likes change then a Tundra isn't for them. New trucks are fun but the damn Tundra won't even hiccup (other than me trying to do mods and nicking stuff) so I have no excuse to get a new one.

Well I got some info back in January from someone who seems to know quite a bit about the new tundra since he works in the industry, I just can't give many details....but I figured I'd finally let yall know something.... there will be a trim about platinum/1794. I realllyyyyy want to say what the trim is, but I don't want anything to fall back on the guy that told me. Time will tell if he gave me legitimate info, but im really hoping so.
