I installed an automatic light control sensor into the area where one should be in my dash. I don't have automatic lights, but it does keep my radio bright, instead of switching to night mode if I turn my headlights on during the day. It's as simple as popping the filler plug out, sliding the sensor in, and plugging in the existing wire.

Check the build link in my signature.
Buy the headlight wand with auto headlights and that’sa simple swap as well. I did it in my 2008. Just make sure to nark the steering wheel position before you pull it off.

I took my new 2021 through a car wash yesterday. Coming from a 2001 Tacoma, this was terrifying. The Tundra is so big I was afraid the car wash sprayers were going to hit the truck.

This is great! I need my headlights on when towing our travel trailer for the rear camera to work and the screen becomes so hard to see with sunglasses on. I'll give this a try. Thanks!

I added auto lights to our 08 4Runner by adding the sensor (+ a small intermediate dash harness as on the 4Runner its not existing in all trim packages) and if the case is similar for the Tundra, my guess is all you would need to add is the headlight stalk with the "auto" setting and you would then have the auto headlight function.

Nice! How much weight are you running in the back? Daily and fully loaded?

Also, how was the install? I'm planning to install mine this weekend, any tips?

I hear you. After the Tundra, driving the Tacoma is like driving a sedan. I put a Leer shell on my Tundra and it took a long time to get over the feeling I was driving a bus.

Hey Bro sorry for the late reply. I tapped into both positive & ground wire on the foot light on my driver side (Funny part I only have 1 footlight and that's on the driverside) Reason I was getting the lights to never turn off is because the computer kills the ground cable and the positive stays on. So Don't ground it to that ground bunch you have at the footwell behind that panel (White & black line cables) I tapped into the Blue (Positive) and Brown (Ground). Hope that helps. Reach out if you need any help @Tundra234.

What did you paint the grill surround and bumper covers with? Ive been debating doing the same. Got any more pics?

As for mine, had 5100s installed at middle setting, and cooper 275/70/18s installed. Just got home and parked on the flat road to measure, i have 1 1/8" rake from center cap to wheel well.

plasti dip. Has held up well and over many washes over about a year. Just can’t bring myself to fork over the money for color matched. Too many other things I’d rather have and happy for now to address it with a $5 can of dip. I think you should keep the blackout and blue theme going  more pics of my front in my profile and other posts

    A bunch
That's good for +10 MPG - there's a reason golf balls are dimpled. If no paint is broken there's no problems with hail damage - plus you can get a payout from insurance as if it was going to be repaired.

Thanks all! It sucks but I'm just grateful that my windows are intact and its drivable. Just north of me the hail was larger and did much more damage to homes and vehicles.
