12" BAM Video

I was out running errands with my wife. Got home and was bored so I had her blip the throttle a couple times. This is the 12 inch standard system with resonator. Not too many videos of this system. Video is never as good as real life, but it's a decent representation. I may try to add some drive by videos when time permits.

Sounds amazing! Exhaust is one thing I can't get the wife to budge on (yet).

 

Sounds stock to me have her lay into it

 

It’s the recording. She wasn’t pegging it, but definitely not stock sounding in real life.

 

Im sure just giving u a hard time!!!! I have the 8incher and love the way it sounds had mine for a few years now still like it

 

I put on the 8” without the resonator at first and sounded great. I just put on the resonator and think it sounds even better. More refined and rich sounding. Without out the resonator it was a bit raspier, I was afraid the resonator would make it too tame but no way… sounds awesome!

 

It’s all good.

 

Call me old but I love it! Just the right volume and smooth. I hate the raspiness on these engines with too open of exhaust.

 

The three muffler Frankenstein cat back Keith made for my truck sounds as close to stock when idling and cruising, and it roars like NASCAR V8 up to 6000 or so RPMs.


I enjoy driving the truck for the sounds it makes.

I just have an 8”. Need to get one of these exhausts for the truck though.

 

How long did u go before resonator? Im have about 30k miles on mine and was thinking of puting resonator on.

 

I went only a few thousand miles. I swapped trucks and moved the muffler to the new truck so I figured at the same time I’d install the resonator. Sounds even better.

 

I had the 8 inch system before I traded for the 12 inch system. I did try the 8 inch with and without the resonator. The best way I can describe the difference is the resonator cancels/minimizes that pronounced deep undertone. The sound is quieter (not silent) and cleaner. I went to the 12 because the 8 was a little too raspy for me under heavier throttle.

 

I think I’m sold on a 12”

I’ve got the 10” and haven’t had time with two kids to get my resonator install plus we’ve got cold weather and no heated garage for 6 months lol.

 

For s**ts and giggles, I took the resonator off and took a drive. Soooo much better with the resonator. Re-installed immediately.

Without it, there is more bass, maybe a little more volume, definitely drone - not ear bleeding but there. But the overall sound is just more tuned and refined with the resonator.

 

I’ve got the 6” DD BAM. I love the way it sounds as is, but I still want to put my resonator on just to hear it, I did have him send me a block off plate in case I want to go back to no resonator. I just need to bring the holesaw kit home from work, or go to Harbor freight and get a cheap set.

 

How many miles u got on it?

 

23,500 on the truck. Probably 5,000+ on the 12”BAM.

Yep....sounds about like my 12". I do like its music. Real quiet in the cab at cruise. Throaty on acceleration. I've had some nice comments on its sound from a few other Tundra owners with stock systems. They know it's different even at idle.
