My Tundra 4wd is 2005 and it has 190K miles on it. I wonder at what mileage that your trucks need the front wheel bearings replaced.

I imagine when it starts sounding like two cats fucking in a dumpster behind taco-bell.

I replaced the passenger side (you know, the two cats fucking thing...) at ~230,000. Gave me the chance to replace the brake shield which had rusted into dust.

Wah wah wahhhh wah wha wahhhhh wha.

When you hear that sound rolling in your cab, then that is the time to replace it. Or, if you have things open and its easy to do while in there is another reason. Otherwise leave it alone.

It's not a very fun job so I'd only do it when it's time.

For sure it's not fun at all. I'm a diy guy, so I only want to do it when it's necessary. Lol.

Piggy backing on this, I am about to replace my front wheel bearing (driver's first as it is the offending side). The 1A Auto bearing is a KOYO. Has this been used successfully by anyone? or is it the standard, just by the OEM? Not out of principal, but actual experience, is the OEM the go to for this part?

Koyo is the OEM. Do it.

Others are National and SKF (which is Koyo also sometimes).

NAPA sells the SKF, but iirc the cost is the same as Stealer Koyo.

Have 265k ish on an 05 Sequoia that has seen plenty of off road use. One front and one rear replaced, at 230k ish and 165k ish iirc. No dumpster cat noises... But slight noise and play noticed when doing other service/repair. Other two still rolling along.
