    Just sharing information.

I waited almost two years for the software to be ready for the 2019 Tundra Magnuson Supercharger. I was going to trade in for a 2021 model but thought about having to wait again. I finally got it installed :bananadance:. The first thing I noticed was my cruising range went from 420 miles to 580 miles :bananadance:. I live about 50 miles from the shop that installed the sc. When I got home I noticed my average mpg was 21.7. I was getting 14+ mpg prior. I was totally surprised by the increase. My truck is also my daily and going about town I average about 19 mpg. I believe I could get a bit better mpg but I think because it's new I do try to hear the supercharger kick in :curls:.
You do have to use premium gas 91+ octane and we have 93 here. I am just very happy with my current set up :).

From what I understand you'll have to hand calculate your MPGs

Interested in the long term viability of the supercharger.
I’ve never had a supercharged vehicle. But I’d assume better mpg, more passing power and a way cooler sound are all the benefits.

I concur with Salty...the stock computer is caddywhompus with the additional air flow.

with that said...a light foot should get you similar mileage.

My Harrop is getting made this week, per Harrop. end of May for my install. until then, I will live vicariously thru y'all.

Every time I unhook my battery, the computer resets and my dte goes up. It quickly goes back down after a tank or so. It would do it even faster if I was SCed.

I think there is a thread discussing reliability, if not it's discussed in one of the many recent S/C threads. Some folks have them on their vehicles for 100K to 200K plus with no problems. I think a recent post revealed one member is having oil consumption issues at about 150k.

So I'm waiting for the next gen truck to come out ... that TTV6 engine is compelling, but the way things are going it's probably gonna be a $60-70k truck. For the money I'm thinking I'd come out ahead just spending $10k to put an SC on my '11 (and it's gonna sound a helluva lot better too).

I had one in my 2010. Put it on around 10k and traded the truck in at about 94k. Only issue I had was the coupler kept rattling. I replaced it twice but it kept doing it. A shop suggested I do a rebuild on the sc, but I traded it before that.

I love hearing dyno videos of supercharged tundras. makes a exponentially better rasp.

It's my daily driver so initially I'll keep it at 6-7 psi. stage 1 Harrop.

If I can get visibility on internal components ability to handle Stage 2...I can't see me NOT moving up.

    Tastefully enhanced...
My DIC shows 19.2mpg but hand calc'd it's actually 14.1mpg...

I will never own a gas truck without a SC...nothing to worry about on reliability as long as you're up on your maintenance. More expensive fuel is required and you use more of it...the cost of awesome can surprise ya if you don't research...congrats as you made a great choice!

If your worried about MPG a blower is not for you unless you have super human restrain.

My MPG is stuck @ 14.6 MPG according to the computer & has not moved in years. Real MPG is is around 11MPG BC I drive like an azz & enjoy it every day.

    Ninja edit
I also have a Prius (Don't ask) the I get about 28 MPG, so it must be me.:)

Do you know if they worked out the stage 2 software yet for 19s and up?

Your computer mpg's will be off after the supercharger is installed. A good gauge is to take what the computer shows and subtract 5 mpg's from that. That's what I've heard from others and pretty spot on when I hand calc it.

If there is no tune, then the ECU is not flashed correct? Does this mean the Tow/Haul mode still operates the same?

I read someplace it gets all screwed up when supercharging the truck.

no tune = truck acts the same.

it runs off the MAF, so all variables remain on the "table" - as long as you run the stage 1 pulley.

there is an awesome white paper by Harrop that explains all this. they tested the stage 1 on a 2018. no tune. I'll post relevant snips tomorrow, once i get back to the office.

I had mentioned earlier about my increase in cruising range and mpg after having the supercharger installed. I have a 38 gal. tank and my cruising range went from 410 (10.8 mpg) miles to 580 miles (15.3 mpg) I went on a trip yesterday and although it was mostly highway miles, here were my results I filled the truck up, traveled 137 miles, and it took 6.7 gal. to fill it up again (20.45 mpg). Driving home, I traveled 136 miles and it took 7.1 gal. to fill it up again (19.15 mpg).

I’m betting they disconnected your battery and your cruising range will drop back down in a day or two. Anytime my battery disconnects I get the same thing
