Anyone else always have air coming through the vents even when the AC controls are set to Off?? It’s been like that since I’ve owned the truck...I just put it on defrost so it’s not constantly blowing air in my face. But no matter what...if it’s Off it blows either hot or cool air, depending on the temp setting.

Is the interior air recirculation button pressed? I was driving today, and noticed with that button in the Off position I was getting air through.

It's been cold here so I leave it on heat, and windshield during these conditions. Today, I swapped it over to full face wind.

The one that looks like a car?

It isn’t on, but when it’s on I get more...it does only happen when I’m driving to your point. Maybe just the vent not fully closing?

The AC compressor kicks on automatically if have the defroster or defroster/floor selected, even with the AC button off. Quite a few of my past vehicles had this feature. Is your AC running in all positions?

If I am understanding correctly, I believe this is normal, either that or I have a problem also

When I have recirculate in off position, fan off, vents up top, I have a volume of air coming out vents and faster I go the more volume but still not that much :notsure:

Normal for I'd guess most vehicles. I've never had one that with the the fan off hasn't had some residual air movement while driving.

Same here. I have some air coming out of the vents even when the blower is turned to zero. Doesn't really bother me and if it does I just point the vents away from me.

Yeah. The damper is open so air is allowed to enter (even with fan Off). Faster vehicle speeds results in more air entering cab. I learned this in 3rd grade.

To stop this natural phenomena, press ‘Recirc’ which closes damper to outside at atmosphere.

If that doesn’t stop the air, then your Recirc Door is broken.

Glad to hear this is normal. Never really bothered me, I just turn it to defrost. But I was just curious. Thanks for the responses everyone.

There is a documented fix for this.
You remove the HVAC control fascia and unplug one wire. Boom! Defrost vents selected without engaging AC compressor. #bliss

Also, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want a steady stream of fresh air at any time ever.
Roll down your windows and those drafty wafts from the slumbering HVAC will be unrecognizable.
