So it’s about to time to replace tires and I thought it’s good idea to create a thread to discuss about budget tires. I am currently running 35x12.5x20 Nitto Trail Grappler Mt. And after 15kmiles they started showing dry rot cracks which I didn’t expect from these super expensive tires. Anyways I did little research about Budget tires so here is the list:-(please comment if you have experience with any of these tires or any other budget tires which doesn’t have any vibration issues and have long life):)
    1. Kenda Klever Rt
    2.Yokohama geolandar xt
    3.Falken wildpeak at3w
    4.Gladiator xcomp
    5. Radar Renegade Rt
    6. Fury country hunter rt
    7. Venom tera hunter rt
    8. Mastercraft cooper cxt

Of that list Falken but not sure they are budget tires like they used to be.

Do yourself a favor and get a set of Coopers that fit your need.

Mastercraft is a Cooper Tire Company tire. Sometimes you can find a pretty good deal on their CXT, which is an AT tire with an aggressive tread pattern and great looking sidewall. I ran this tire before and was very happy with it.

Cooper owns Dean Tire Co. Very decent tires that are sold by independent dealers. Might want to check them out.

The Cooper Dicover tires I got from Discount Tire come with a 50,000 mile warranty. Add the shop road hazard guarantee and you are good to go. Depending on your immediate need and the particular tires you want, you might get them on sale if you wait

The Discount Tire shops are having a sale now along with Les Schwab that sells Dean tires.

Pathfinder all terrain for the win. They run about $220 for a 295-70-18.

I previously had good results with the Mastercraft AXT. Had Ridge Grapplers last time and they started the same surface/dry rot cracks that you spoke of, at probably 15k miles. Definitely was disappointed with that although I didn’t have any issues with it.

I also don’t have any issues either but I don’t feel comfortable with these cracks lol. And I was considering Ridge grappler too but now I will stay away from them too lol.

Discount does not carry Mastercraft but Wal Mart does. I looked at them but I want to stick with Discount. I am looking at Atturro ATs right now. Discount has them. They are an aggressive AT and probably the lowest price ATs out there. I have not read a bad review on them. I was considering the Discount exclusive Goodyear ATs. Since I don't put a lot of miles on the truck tires will be 8 years old before tread wears out. Trailer tires are different but I have learned on my boat trailer not to go much past 5 years.

Sorry, I'd never buy anything from LS. Looks like of most of their stuff is chinese crap. I've had two sets of their snow tires. They were all crap that started getting sidewall bulges and tread separation. Treads wore down quick and they lost studs easily too. Their warranty service is awful too.
I'm sticking with Discount Tire. Never had a bad experience issue with their service or warranty replacement.

Did you have any vibration issues? And what was the tire size? And how many miles they lasted?

I had no vibration issues and the balanced fine. They were solid. I never run a set of tires until they're done so I had them for about a year and sold the truck. They still looked and felt new at that time. I can't tell you how many miles I put on them.

I ran the Mastercraft MXT briefly on my new truck - I actually ordered the CXT and the shop mistakenly got me MXT (mud tires). They actually ran great for MT tires, but were a little louder than I wanted so I swapped them out after a couple thousand miles.

Whatever tire you pick, find the cheapest price elsewhere online and then show the offer to Discount Tire online. They will beat the offer and send you an email that you take in with you. I got Michelin Defenders for $94 a tire. The sales manager shook his head as he rang up the deal. It works every time.

Another option related to your list is the Kenda Klever AT2. I'm currently running them and am very happy, especially for the price.

Also look on craigslist or fb marketplace for take-offs from new buyers upgrading their stock set up if you're really on a budget.

Oh hahaha forgive me for misinterpreting "Best Budget Tires" as actual best budget tires.

What is the date of manufacture cast into the side of your rotten tires?

I haven't been to LS in years. I only mentioned LS because they sell USA made Dean tires owned by Cooper. LS used to be very good. They gave me my first credit ever on a set of tires for my Jeep CJ back in 1974 in Cottage Grove, Orygun. I was 18. 47 years ago. My friend has some real nice American made Cooper owned Dean AT's that he bought from our local LS. Our local LS sells Toyo's too. Last time I checked they were being made here and not in China. Hardly mostly Chinese made crap. I personally never had issues with Discount but that being said, Discount offers a lot of cheap Chinese made tires too. LS and Discount are only as good as their service manager. Same with Yota service managers.

My friend finally got home. Here is a pic of his USA made Dean Tires he bought at Les Schwab. Back Country All Terrain on his F-250. M&S rated too. $200+. I like them actually.

I contacted them and they said go to any authorized dealer and you will get pro rate. I went to discount tires and they said we can give you $100 per tire if you buy new one but I don’t want to buy Nitto again. It’s expensive as hell and then dry rot after 15k miles. It’s not just me tons of other people have same issue with them.

After watching tons of videos and reviews I am going to buy 37/12.5/20 Falken wildpeak at3w. I shortened down 2 tires Falken wildpeak at3w and Bfg ko2. This time I will try Falken. I liked kenda klever Rt but they don’t come in 37s. If I had to buy 35s I definitely go with kenda klever rt. They are cheaper and I didn’t find any negative reviews about them. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Goodbye Nitto..(fix your dry rot issue)

I don't have long term experience but my 4x4 shop recommended Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP to me. I have enjoyed them so far. Road noise isn't bad. Off road performance has been good. I haven't had them very long so I'm not sure what the wear will look like once I get some miles on them.
